There was a time (late 1990's to early 2000's) that Sketcher's made the BEST women's work boot in the industry. These are not those, but they are better than anything else out there currently. These boots are heavy duty but light enough to wear for long periods. They have a steel toe. I prefer a composite toe, but at least your toe is protected. Some people may feel these are a little wide in the toe bed, but if you have never owned a steel toe or composite toe boot, you don't want your toes rubbing against the hard toe enclosure. In a regular shoe there would be some "give" but in a steel toe there is not--so you need a little extra room. Size: I had to go a half size up. I'm a 7. I went to a 7.5. I have a very wide foot, but the regular (M) width was perfect. Comfort: There is NO arch support. All work boots should come with an arch support but for some reason, they no longer do. In a work boot your foot needs to be supported both at the arch and the ankle. I still have the arch supports that came with my late 1990's Sketchers work boots, so I will use those. The foot bed of these boots is Memory Foam. It feels ok. The only thing I worry about is the gel in the memory foam can sometimes get cold if it is really cold outside --then your feet will feel cold. The Ankle is a little high on these. The front part of the ankle could have been more padded. They might need a little breaking in. This boot will rub on the front of your ankles. I guess thicker socks will help? The Shoelace: will probably will not last too long. The old Sketchers came with 2 sets of REALLY GOOD work boot laces in two different colors. I may still have a pair stashed in the back of a drawer somewhere that I can switch with these. Waterproof: I have not yet had the chance to see how they hold up in wet conditions. I may just water- proof them myself to be safe. I guess they just don't make things like they used too. But compared to any other women's work boots out there these are tops.

They get the job done. Leather still wearing in, but comfortable if laced tightly. Insoles are good. Aggressive tread. I use them for summertime yard/brush work. They breathe adequately, and being leather, they do absorb grass stains (which is just fine for the purpose of protecting my feet and ankles).

The picture is what the insoles looked like in only 1 week. They slid down the boot and sticky stuff was all over my socks. The boots themselves were the most comfortable steel toe shoes I've ever worn, and the width was great for wide feet. I wear a standard 8 in shoes but like extra room for my toes. There was extra room, plenty of it. If you don't like looser fitting shoes and you opt for a wide, maybe go a half size down? I don't know, they were perfect for me, especially after I got my own insoles in them. Definitely room for thicker socks or double socks if you work outside and it is cold also. Great boot for the price, just make sure you get a good pair of insoles or you'll be miserable!

This is my third pair, on my feet 10+ hours a day, the old ones are my mowing shoes.....the relaxed fit is good for my job. Added new insoles, and laces. Definitely recommend!

I'll start with the good things about the shoes before mentioning my bad experience with them. They are very comfortable, come in variable sizes and widths, very durable, and come in great condition! Not to mention they look great. Now, to mention why I gave them a 3 star review. I've had these shoes for about a bit over a month or so now at the time of this review (pictures taken after a month of use). My first impressions were great about the shoes, until I started walking in them. Not even 30 minutes of walking, I received blisters on my toes and the skin on my heels started peeling and bleeding. The soles are far too soft that is causes a lot of friction- creating blisters faster. The back of the shoes rubbed against my heels as well, even despite having thick and long socks on- they still rubbed the skin off of my heels. I became unable to walk for days as my feet had to recover due to walking in these shoes for only a short amount of time. This has happened every time I attempted to break the shoes and wear them. While these shoes are strong, I would not recommend using these for walks of any sort if it's not for just a couple minutes. With the price, it wasn't worth it considering i'm not able to use these shoes for their main purpose- using them.

Okay so I am normally a size 8.5, and I have wide feet. I ordered 8.5W- too big. 8W- too big. 8.5- too big, 8- too big. 7.5- too big but I gave up and wore them anyway. Well while I was wearing them the soles became unglued. Ugh. I wanted these to work out so badly but just don’t bother. Update: DO NO BUY THESE. In order to take back the shoes you need the original box. However, The original box comes damaged and ripped up that u cannot put the shoes back into the box. It doesn’t make sense because it came in a shoe box and the shoe box was put into a sturdy box. The outside box wasn’t broken, but the shoe box was? So because of their lack of packaging I have to suffer? Don’t bother

Steel toes are never fun or comfortable but these seem to be pretty decent as far as work boots go. I found them to be a little bigger than most shoes this size (both in width and length) but I was able to wear two pairs of socks to make up for it and add extra padding and they fit almost just right with two pairs of socks. I can already tell the laces are going to fall apart as hard as I have to pull to get the boots tight enough to not slip around but that’s expected, laces never last forever. It’s also worth noting that these boots aren’t too hideously heavy for steel toes which is a good thing - They’re not the lightest steel toes I’ve ever worn but they’re definitely not the heavier either. These are decently comfortable steel toes at a decent price, I would feel comfortable buying these again once this pair is done for. I don’t feel like these would hold up to extreme wear like intense construction work but they should hold up fine in regular warehouse or factory labor work. Note: These boots say they’re slip resistant but I haven’t gotten to test that yet.
