Top Amazon Reviews

🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

This equalizer has garnered praise for its ability to significantly enhance audio quality, offering a noticeable increase in fidelity and loudness. Users appreciate its versatility for both car and home theater systems, citing it as a valuable addition to their setups. However, some users noted its bulkiness and limitations in equalization settings that affect all outputs equally.

Pros

  • 🎵 Greatly improves audio quality, making music more crisp and significantly louder.
  • 🔌 Versatile usage for both car audio systems and home theaters.
  • 💡 Offers high voltage RCA outputs for better signal strength.
  • 👍 Substantial value for its price, considered an excellent investment for audio systems by many.

Cons

  • ⚖️ Bulkier size than some would prefer.
  • 🎚 Equalization adjustment affects all connected outputs, lacking individual output control.
  • 🛑 A minor report of longevity issues, with one device stopping work after a year with no clear reason.

Should I Buy It?

If you're looking to elevate your audio experience without breaking the bank, this equalizer presents a compelling choice. Its ability to enrich sound quality across different setups makes it a worthy consideration. However, be mindful of its one-size-fits-all adjustment limitation and potential bulkiness. If these are not deal-breakers for you, it seems to offer great value for its price.

  • Great product
I bought this equalizer to add to my system I wired in my bedroom and it does its job. You could also use this equalizer to add to your home theater if you know how to wire it.

  • This thing is a must have!
This thing woke my music up and doubled the loudness! The equalizer is a nice to have, but the real bang for your buck here is the high voltage rca outputs. I had no idea how much signal strength increases fidelity and loudness, but this is the icing on the cake for this product. My music is more crisp and gets way louder before clipping. My one gripe is that the equalizer affects ALL the connected outputs, so increasing 50hz will affect the subs, speakers, AND tweeters, which is a no-no. Other than that, best sub-$100 purchase Ive made for my system in years! ... show more

  • Now we're talking....
Just what I needed to take my factory radio upgrade to the next level. This was like the cherry on top of the full Skar install in my Cruze RS. I'd hoped the two pairs of Skar component sixes, powered by my Skar 75.4 amplifier could sound just a smidgeroni cleaner. The bottom end was already rounded out sexily by the SDR12 (flexing around 600 watts). To my surprise, not only did the equalizer smooth out any ear turds in the mid to upper range...this magnificent little bastard was able to breathe new life into my low end, too. This sucker breaks out separate inputs, employing the perfect frequency curve to my sub like magic. It now quite literally brings me tears of joy anytime I leave the house. Thanks, Skar...you've gone and done it again. ... show more

  • Car equalizers can be installed as part of your home stereo system, here's how:
In addition to being too bulky-sized, home graphic equalizers (Rockville brand seems to now have a monopoly) tend to receive a high number of very negative reviews. To plug in any highly-praised, 12-volt car equalizer into your home's 120-volt power outlet, you will need to buy the following: (1)A plug-in, on-off switch, for example: "UltraPro Grounded Power Switch, 2 Pack, 3 Prong, White, $8.99" (2)A 120-volt AC to 12-volt DC converter, for example: "BYGD AC to DC Converter, 100V ~ 240V to 12V 10A 120W, Car Cigarette Lighter Socket AC/DC Power Supply Adapter Transformer, $19.99" (3)A 12-volt cigarette lighter male plug with leads, for example: "EXTRACTME 2 Pack 12V Fused Cigarette Lighter Male Plug with Leads & LED Light, 16AWG Car Replacement Cigarette Lighter Plug Adapter, $5.99" If you want to get fancy, you might also want to buy: (1)Several 3.5mm stereo female to dual RCA male Y adapters, for example: "6 Inch 3.5mm Female to 2 RCA Male Stereo Audio Y Cable, Nickel Plated Adapter, 6 Pack, $7.10" (2)Several high quality 3.5mm stereo audio cables, for example: "2 Pack AUX Cord, 3.5mm Audio Cable [5 Foot /1.5M Hi-Fi Sound] AUX Auxiliary Cable, $6.88" or "1 Foot 3.5mm Male to Male Stereo Audio Cable Headphone/Phone / MP3 Cable, $4.97" If your Skar equalizer is mounted in your car, then the black wire would need to be connected to GND, the red wire would need to be connected to BATT+, and the blue wire would need to be connected to REM = "remote." If the blue wire were left disconnected, then your equalizer would always be off and never turn on, or, it would always be on and never turn off, thereby draining your car battery, even while your car is parked and turned off. Thus, the purpose of the blue wire in all cars is to turn on your equalizer only when your car ignition key is turned on and to turn off your equalizer immediately after you turn off your car ignition key and remove the key to go back into your home. At home, you won't have a blue wire. You will have only a black wire and a red wire coming from your 12-volt cigarette lighter male plug with leads. Connect the black wire to your equalizer's GND terminal and connect the red wire to both the BATT+ terminal and the REM terminal on your equalizer (see illustration). ... show more

  • Good for the price! Needs some additional input for subwoofer or a parallel input mode!
Turning up the 50hz put more strain on the mid speakers with just 1 input.needs a subwoofer input! I feel it did not "crossover" the low frequency out of the mids. Yes, it has a volume knob for subwoofer BUT adding low frequency from the EQ went everywhere. So... did adding in higher frequencies add the same higher frequency into the subwoofers? Yes it did! So adding crossover points to this EQ would put this product over the top!! Rather than having investing in more product. It would be "all in 1". ... show more

  • Worked great until it didn't
Worked for about a year and then stopped working for unknown reasons. Never changed anything with system but stopped working. Replaced with different equalizer.
