  • Good quality item
This item I really like and seems to be of good quality and comes in a good case. Have used several times with no problems.

  • SK is back!
Case is nice, bits are well made and screwdriver feels well built. Ratcheting is smooth.

  • Great tool
I was impressed when I opened the case and felt how smooth the action was on this screwdriver. The handle fits in your hand and the cutouts give you great control and leverage. The locking of the bits in the drive is positive and secure none ever fell out like magnetic ones do. This would be a great tool for any DIY' person out there for home and auto. There is a nice assortment of normal bits and nut drivers and the storage box is made to separate and fit in a toolbox with everything exposed. Missing from the kit is a apex bit holder for those specialty fasteners you run into. I was happy to find that by design any bits seem to fit the drive most are just too short to be practical unless you need a stubby screwdriver Sadly there is no paperwork in the kit and extra bits or accessories were not found on their website. The drive system seems a sealed unit and I have never had a ratcheting screwdriver that did not need cleaning or replacement under heavy use. All in all this is a good all around screwdriver that is only a bit short of being good for industrial settings but when a basic tool truck ratchetting screwdriver is more than double the price a good choice for most. Thirty years in aviation taught me that a good screwdriver is your best friend when you are removing or replacing screws by the hundreds a day and all in all this is a good one that just needs a couple tweaks to be better. ... show more

  • Heavy Duty and Better Than Most
The first thing I noticed about this screwdriver/nut-driver kit is that it is heavy. It is not too heavy to use, but is much heavier than any of the other switchable screwdrivers I’ve ever held, including the Kline specialty electricians screwdriver. This screwdriver is definitely well built, which is what I’ve come to expect from the SK brand. The bit holder grabs hold of the bit as it is inserted. Once inserted, there is no play or wobble in the bit. There is no way the bit will fall out either. In fact, you would be hard pressed to pull a bit out once it is in place. However, the bits are easily removed by pulling back on the bit release ring. The ratchet is tight and has nearly zero play as well. This feature along with the bit locking feature make using this screwdriver as close to having a fixed blade driver as you can get. It is exceptionally stable. I typically don’t care for ratcheting screwdrivers, but this one provides so much control that I will likely make it my go to tool for screws and small nuts. Switching between forward ratcheting, fixed drive, and reverse ratcheting is easily done by rotating the selector ring. There is a positive “click” that can be felt at each position. However, the position of the ratchet is not well marked. It would be nice to see what position the ratchet is in rather than having to test it every time you pick it up. Also, the ratchet position does not lock into place. This could be a problem in tight spaces where the selector ring might rub against something and change the setting with the driver is being used. The ratcheting selecteor is the only negative I found with this driver. The driver comes with several double ended bits with ends having the most commonly found sizes. The more commonly found sizes show up on multiple bits. Each bit is 3-1/2” in length, so they can reach down into holes and recesses where those stubby 1” bits can’t. The handle can also receive any common ¼” hex drive bit, making this driver even more versatile. I even used this driver handle to hold a hex shaft drill bit to hand drill a hole in plastic where a power drill was too much for the job. The kit also contains nut driver bits in common SAE sizes between ¼ and ½. These bits do double duty as well, as they have the locking dent so they can be used in a drill driver The handle has the capacity to carry six of the bits at all times. I’ll be putting the most commonly used bits in the handle along with a No2 Phillips in the chuck. This will allow me to grab this driver on my way to any task and I will nearly always have the right bit to get the job done. That’s something I could never do with one of those switch bit drivers you see on the checkout counter at the hardware store. Even the case for this tool is heavy duty. It has a metal hasp and steel hinge pins where most cases are all plastic. I've had a small army's worth of plastic cases fail over the years. I'll likely have this case of the rest of my life. I think I'll go ahead and buy several of these and give them as gifts, but this first one is all mine!. ... show more

  • Not the usual SK quality I've experienced in the past.
Love the case and feel of the tools. However some of the bits do not fit into the driver. Very disappointing.

  • Absolutely tough enough for most home jobs
The handle has a substantial feel and it ratchets smoothly in either direction. I think it must have a larger number of teeth in the ratchet because with even a tiny backward rotation, it is ready to lock up and turn again. The handle comfortably filled my hand and allowed me to generate a good amount of torque. It comes with 10 double ended screwdriver bits about 4” long, covering a variety of screwdriver needs, including flat-head, Phillips, Torx, and square drive. The handle also provides storage for 6 bits at a time. I have never seen a screwdriver that could store longer bits like this one. The bits install in the screw driver/ratchet assembly with a distinctive click and there is no wobble in the bit holder. The set also includes 7 nut-driver bits in standard SAE sizes from 3/16 to 1/2. All of the bits and nut-drivers snap securely into the case. This set looks like it will last for years. I don’t know if this set would stand up to continued all-day use by a carpenter or mechanic, but it is more than a capable addition to my tool drawer at home. I have a feeling that if I don’t lose it and it doesn’t get stolen, I will be using it for years. ... show more

  • Very handy
I was not familiar with SK but I was happy to see that it has a long history of toolmaking. However, I did notice that they had moved some of their manufacturing overseas, which made me worry about the quality of this screwdriver set. Nevertheless, I've put this toolset through its paces around the home and garage and it has so far held up very well. The soft touch textured grip is comfortable to use and inserting and removing the bits is easy. The tool holds the bits securely and without any wiggling. Switching directions on the ratchet gives a nice smooth mechanical "clunk". The case is nice to have, but the metal latch tends to slide around a bit, forcing you to pay attention to the latch so you know you're closing it correctly. ... show more
