    • Great For 3D Embossing Folders
Several years ago I replaced my Sizzix Big Kick machine with the Spellbinders Platinum 6. Unfortunately the Platinum 6 can’t handle the different thicknesses of embossing folders. It just wouldn’t accept the Tim Holtz 3D embossing folders, even following Spellbinders recommended sandwich. I decided to add the Tim Holtz Big Shot to use for embossing and cutting thick materials. I really like this machine. One of the reasons that I got rid of my Big Kick was it’s size. Being able to fold up the machine for storage is a plus. The cutting plates are sturdy and didn’t warp after a few cuts (unlike the other machines on the market). The Sizzix offers versatility that I don’t have with my Platinum 6. It not only cuts the popular wafer thin dies but it also can cut Sizzix’s larger dies. The Tim Holtz Sizzix embosses both regular and the thick Tim Holtz 3D folders with ease.     • Perfect size and easy to operate.
The Sizzix Big Shot is a very nice manual machine. I'm new to card making and did a lot of research on die cutters and embossing machines. This one fits the bill. Its small, sturdy, and easy to use.

I like the weight, size and handle mechanism. The throat is 6” wide. I have Tim Holtz 3D embossing folders and this is the first machine I’ve found that works great and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. It’s compact and stores away nicely. I was worried if it would be hard to crank but it was like butter! 10/10 ... show more

    • Wonderful crafting tool
I've been crafting for nearly half a century but recently got very into papercraft and card making. This tool is fantastic for use with embossing folders, 3D embossing folders and cutting dies of all kinds. The pressure is greater than the Sizzix Texture Boutique I was using for embossing previously, so I get much nicer results from every folder I have whether name-brand or knock-off. The fact that the sides and the handle fold in to reduce the footprint to approximately the size of the standard cutting pads is a huge help for storage. ... show more

I love my Big Shot--the original one. This foldaway version is almost as easy to use. Although seemingly heavy enough, it tends to lift up while being operated and so, it must be held down much more firmly than the original for cutting. Still, I like it and will be taking it with me on crafting journeys. It's a Sizzix product, therefore, very good. ... show more

This works very well and is a sturdy machine I like the way it folds up so it doesn’t take up as much space as I live in an RV and space is at a premium.

I bought an electric die cutter from another provider. Then I bought big shot from Tim Holtz. This big shot is worth some money, it is sturdy, well put together and engineered.
