My car is 12 years old. Although it came with a GPS, the car dealer has stopped supporting map updates. Since the radio deck is proprietary, no manufacturer offers a CarPlay deck for my car. However, having this portable device to use with my iPhone 14 is fantastic. The price of the device is reasonable and affordable, eliminating the need to pay the car dealer large sums for map updates. While it doesn't come with a dash/window mount, it fits perfectly on my dashboard. No complaint at all. There are a few of issues want to share: (1) This device isn't battery-driven and doesn't seem to have a built-in battery. It requires power to operate. Once the car is turned off or the cable is disconnected, it is OFF. (2) The device doesn't support multiple Bluetooth devices. Once I've connected my device, I have to remove it from the device in order to pair another phone. I've tried just turning off Bluetooth from my phone, but I still couldn't pair with another device. The device keeps searching for my iPhone. I have to DELETE the connection from the device in order to pair with another phone. While it's a bit troublesome to switch between devices, I understand that the design is for a single device most likely. I can live with it. The device can be connected to the phone via Bluetooth or WiFi, but I've been unsuccessful in making the connection. No luck with connecting my iPhone to the device via WiFi. (3) Audio output is a little tricky. The device is already connected to the iPhone via Bluetooth. There's no way it can also feed audio to the car stereo via Bluetooth. This leaves me with only two options: FM radio transmission and AUX. I've tried both options and prefer the FM transmission, as it provides better sound quality. The built-in speaker is the most horrible way to feed music that I will not recommend at all. I believe that if I were able to configure the WiFi connection, it would be easy to feed audio to the car stereo via Bluetooth. Overall, it's not a bad device. I gives 5 stars is because it is portable and map updates will be based on my iPhone, not from the costly car manufacturers. The minor issues don't make me don't affect my rating. ... show more

Easy installation. Great way to add Android Auto function to a 2013 Hyundai Elantra, great for navigation, which was the primary reason for purchase. Display is great, and touch screen works nice.     • A great addition to an older vehicle
The media could not be loaded. This $100 purchase has single-handedly saved me from upgrading my 23 year old vehicle. It has been installed in a vehicle from 2000 which did not have a multi-media system, does not have the ability to connect cell-phone audio, and does not have a rear-view camera. The connectivity with the wireless care play is HUGE! Additionally, the ability to create an FM frequency for audio pass through is ingenuous. Finally, the read view camera is easily connected with the extra-long cable. We did not have to drill holes or do anything extravagant to get the camera installed as we simply carried the long cable all the way back to the rear. Overall, this is a can't miss upgrade to any vehicle older than ~2020 as there are hardly any that have the tech features that this add on provides. The media could not be loaded. It really does work great, but after a couple hours it starts freezing up and needs a quick reboot. The sun obviously affects it so I bought a case to put over it when I’m not using it. I had to do that because if you remove the screen by unscrewing it, the screw falls into the casing and you have to take it apart and put the mounting screw back through the hole. I glued it in place while it had the device open. If you’re not driving on a long road trip in the summer, the device works great! After speaking with support for this product they were able to help me to get it to perform as expected. Speed of the wireless car play is spot on, I've had units that were slow to connect and sluggish, this is Smoot as can be. The screen is bright enough for day use, I've played with the DVR and the quality is good, records front and back in one unit, can't get better than that. Overall it's a good system. This product is unreal the screen is very clear and crisp very vibrant. The connectivity was very easy it's plug and play in your lighter. The reverse camera is also very easy to install you basically have to connect to the reverse light as soon as you change to reverse the camera get powered.
