This art kit is so much fun from the 4 year old to the 10 year old. The longer they played the more ways they found to change designs . Great activity for kids.

The last time I used a spin art was decades ago! I remember how much fun I had and when I saw this, knowing my daughter has yet to experience spin art, I knew we had to try it! Setup was easy and straightforward. Insert batteries, put in the spinning tray, put in your paper, attach the splatter guard, and turn it on! There are two speeds for this but because the spinning tray we got was warped we could only use the fastest speed. Using the first/lower speed would make the part of the tray that was warped upwards to keep hitting the splatter guard which would sometimes make it stop completely and always create a line on the paper, through the paint. I love how it includes the different types of paper but getting some of them slotted into the tray was a pain at times. More often than not the papers wouldn't fit perfectly into the slots which would cause the paper to bulge upwards, making the problem from the warped tray even worse. Since the first speed was useless I did find using the second speed alleviated those problems most of the time. Once my daughter got the hang of it and was having more fun she really became creative with things. She developed her own techniques, started using a brush to spread out the paint a bit more and create more interesting patterns, and even used toothpicks for finer touches. I almost forgot about the oil pastel pencils as they were completely useless. Overall this is a really great spin art kit and gave us well over two hours of fun (we used all the paper and then flipped them over to use the backside of them as well as using almost 90% of all the paints) despite the annoyances we had with it. Fun times!!

I got this for a 2yo who had a great time making a mess with it. The problem with kits like these is that they don't usually include enough paint for you to get good with it, and even more so when you're splitting it between multiple kids. They are definitely fun to experiment with - kind of like spirographs - but you'll need extra paints to experiment AND perfect.

Obviously first point - supervision is necessary to ensure your house doesn't turn into a giant splatter art canvas. My 4 year old is really getting into her artist era and painting is usually a huge mess, even with precautions. This is super easy to set up and contain the mess while still giving her the feeling of being creative. Battery operated means we can take it outside or in the bathtub or wherever gives me the least amount of stress over her artist lifestyle. Highly recommend.

This spin art machine helps use centrifugal force to spread paint outwards in a circular motion across circular pieces of paper. It is simply a paint spinner and is used to create really cool pieces of art. Here are some thoughts: 1) The pieces of paper that will fit in this spin art machine is only the circular type. You can try non circular pieces of paper, but the amount of overlap over the edges of the machine might cause it to not spin properly because of how the spinner might be lifted too high up. 2) By virtue of the fact that paint is spun and spread using centrifugal force, I am unable to guarantee that your cream colored leather or fabric sofa will remain free from paint. As such, it is advisable to use this spin art machine outdoors. Overall, I do recommend this spin art machine because my kids love the fun and random, unique pieces of art that are produces by this spin art machine.
