Another great Sitka product. The jacket is light but both quiet and wind proof. It seems like it would also withstand a light rain. The jacket is form fitting and has nice pockets. This will be an excellent early season western elk hunting piece.

For what it is intended to be, it is very well made and useful. What you need to know is," jacket" is a pretty loose term. This is a very light windbreaker at best. Layer up if you need to stay warm.

I bought a mountain jacket maybe 4 years ago that is more insulated than this one. This one was more like a jet stream jacket which is good for wind but not as much for cold. I could be wrong but this is my gut.
