Pleased overall. Sturdy plastic, dishwasher/microwave safe, good capacity for lunch and soups, secure spill resistant lid with clamps, vent hole for microwaving. Not terribly well insulated but that is expected for a plastic microwave safe container. Carry handle is nice for hot foods.

(Reviewing the LARGE size Sistema Mug- 30.4 ounces, although they look alike, they come in several sizes. Check to be sure you are getting the size you want before ordering.) I absolutely LOVE these mugs. Bought a blue one first to take soup to work for lunch. However, found myself using it at home too - for soup, chili, and to store leftovers in the fridge. I have reheated mac and cheese and casseroles as well. Works also for hot or cold beverages. Lots of room for a big beverage AND ice cubes. I have made milkshakes it them. Uses are endless. (These are NOT intended to be leakproof) Snap on lid is great. NO, you can't put liquid in it and turn it upside down and expect it not to leak. I use the lid if storing in fridge or for travel. Just keep it right side up and no problems. I take the lid off in the microwave and use a venting plastic dome type cover just because I don't want to unsnap the lid while it is filled with hot liquid. No brainer. Yes you could unsnap the lid and open the vent and lay the lid on top of the mug in the microwave, but my way seems easier to me. Caution: Anything with tomato in it will stain, so DO NOT BOIL anything in them, just heat gently. Boiling/high heat can damage the plastic according to the manufacturer. Even heating gently, I did get a very SLIGHT red stain in my blue one even though I didn't boil in it, but after using and washing a couple of times, it is now gone! I liked the blue one so much, I bought one in orange, purple, green, pink and red for an even half dozen. Now when I make homemade soup or stew, I can put it in the mugs and I have lunch and or dinner for days. Meal in a mug! (Not sure about freezing in them) I try to use the red, pink, and orange one for tomato based foods. It holds almost a quart, so you can easily make a big bowl of soup without filling it to the top. That and the big handle make it easy to carry from microwave to table without the lid, even a room away. Just don’t trip! Or put the lid on while carrying. Doesn't get hot like a ceramic soup bowl. Handle stays cool and is easy for small hands and big hands alike. The plastic is almost self-cleaning. Nothing liquid based seems to stick to it, especially liquid soups. Washing is just a formality! LOL. Negative reviews seem to me to be largely from individuals who didn’t take the time to read the instructions or who are reviewing their particular seller. Not quite fair. One review I read started out with “You would assume . . .” Seriously? I am fussy, and I highly recommend these mugs. However, I read the instructions before using. Shop around; the prices vary quite a bit. I bought mine on two different websites from several different sellers in order to get the best prices. ... show more

I love this cup’s size, the vented lid and the color. I would suggest using nonstick spray, if heating tomato based soup or sauces. I am going to buy some more cups for my daughters.

    • Great if you have a tremor.
I have a tremor and am unable to transfer canned food in the usual way into a bowl for microwaving and carry the hot bowl without spilling quite a bit of the food (making a mess or worse burning myself). Had worked out a way using a microwavable bowl that worked for thick chili, by inverting the empty bowl over the open can then rapidly flipping them together and pulling the can up out of the bowl, leaving the chili behind in the bowl. But this did not work with soups, etc. nor did it solve the problem of carrying the hot bowl reliably. These are perfectly sized for the standard 15 ounce can, maintaining a good "seal" while flipping the bowl and can together. Locking the lid on prevents spills while carrying, and if the vent is closed just before removing it from the microwave it is completely safe to carry to where you will sit it down and remove the lid to eat. ... show more

    • "SOUP"er great cup!
I first saw this cup at my mom's house a couple months ago while she was warming up some soup for my 5 year old niece and thought it looked pretty great. She said she had purchased a set of them from QVC quite a while back and uses them all the time and had even gave my own daughter one in a different size. I VERY frequently find myself doing the "open a can and dump in a pan" some Campbells at 8pm and thought this would be fantastic, but really didn't need a dang collection at especially how big these are! True to other reviews, the color you get is random so I got a very VIBRANT green color but its function is dynamite. I absolutely love Campbell's Tomato and Rice soup and despite it being listed on the package insert and other reviews NOT to put anything with tomato product in this cup due to staining or blistering...I have done so anyway simply because its a soup cup, and thats the soup I like! Oddly, it has not stained or blistered. Go figure, eh? I have not washed it up in the dishwasher since I do use it quite frequently, so I just scrub it up with a dish brush and Dawn after use. I also have not taken it outside of my home, so I can't say how it travels. I really can't see this fitting in ANY cup holder whatsoever. I know the top does have a nice snap down sealing top with the rocker vent cap...but I still am not so certain that I would just toss it into a backpack with a laptop or books and giver her a go for the commute without worry. For myself, I personally don't see the need to have any more than just one per person in the house. But other people like my mother who do like to use them but not wash right away and plop into dishwasher prefer to have several. (Plus she puts leftover macaroni and cheese type stuff in hers.
