I'm ridiculously picky about Tupperware, but also too cheap to buy the super cute bento boxes that may or may not be functionally sound. These were a great compromise, and are better than I could have hoped. They are leakproof as far as I've seen, though I don't pack soup in it because why would you? Lots of little compartments to keep your foods separate, as God intended. It has a little dressing cup for dipping, a removable sandwich compartment, and another removable compartment that isn't as clear in the pictures so you can store even more things. All of the closures can easily be opened and closed by small children with minimal messes, which is a huge pro. It has washed well in a high heat dishwasher, I think even on the lower rack, and has not stained at all from foods. It feels like the same plastic as the stain-resistant ones from Rubbermaid, and those are pretty legit. These are pretty large, so make sure you have somewhere to put them if you are buying more than one, as well as whether it will fit in your lunchbox. Also, don't let it fool you into packing waaaay too much food that you can't actually eat. ... show more

This lunch box is by far my favorite for my kids. We have different top name brands but none of them compare to this brand. This brand is the cheapest compared to the rest. Never had an issue with leaking or mold. Super easy to clean I load everything including the main container into the dishwasher. Extremely easy to open and very sturdy. I love the double layer compartments. The only thing I wish I was able to choose my girls favorite colors rather then the luck of the draw color wise. That is just a personal preference though nothing to get in the way of highly recommending this lunchbox! Don't think just buy it, you will not be disappointed. ... show more

I happened upon one of these in Target, completely fell in love and purchased another for my second child! This is, by far, the best lunch box out there! It!: the perfect size for the typical kids lunch items. The depth is what I was needing that other bentos don’t do. The size of the individual compartments is perfect. I love the removable parts to cater to different items. I’ve paid top dollar for Pottery Barn and other bentos. This is my keeper from this point forward! Fits perfectly in any size lunch box. Love these things, but they don’t last. Bought two of them less than a month ago. Normal wear and tear, used a few days a week. Did the 5 year old break them with abuse? Doubtful. These seem to have a weak spot on the left connecting joint between the two biggest pieces. Unfortunately if you want to dishwash (or even hand wash) well, you’ll eventually need to separate the two pieces. The hinges themselves seem to be sturdy enough but the plastic behind them should be reinforced. Disappointed since I love these- they are practical for daily use and the perfect size for lunches. Edit: raised my review to 4 stars as I think I was previously unfair. We have been using several of these alternating between kids and camps for over 2 years now. Unless you detach the lid, they are super durable. I do think you should be able to remove the lid for dishwasher or hand cleaning without breaking it, but I just toss the entire thing horizontally into the dishwasher and it’s been fine. ... show more

We use this for our son’s daycare lunch. It is very leak proof and so far it’s been very durable. We’ve been using it for about 3 months and liked it So much that we bought another. It holds a lot of food and we bought the medium size. If you’re looking for an adult bento box, I would suggest the largest size. For a school lunch or daycare i would suggest the medium size. Like I said we bought the medium and it holds our 1 year old son’s breakfast and lunch as well as his snacks. The compartments are so helpful in keeping his breakfast separate from His snacks and lunch. It’s a great product. The only negative I could see is that you can’t choose the color but it’s a nonissue for our family. I believe there are four possible colors. But Idk what color it is, pink or blue or whatever, as long as it holds food! And it does!! ... show more

We haven't used this particular box yet for lunches, so I can't speak on how leak proof it is. I do have another Sistema box that has worked well, so I have high hopes. It (just) fits my child's [flat, square] lunchbox, with maybe enough room leftover for a juice box or something. Looks like it'll hold enough food for my 4th grader. I do wish you could choose the color you wanted. My daughter was hoping for the teal and purple and ended up with dark blue and purple (we got two to swap out through the week). She was still quite happy with the dark blue, and she's very excited to start using these. Overall we're happy with the quality so far; they seem like they'll last a while. They're a little cumbersome when you're hand washing, but it's really not too bad. ... show more

I think this is pretty perfect for my elementary school kids. Many bento boxes are really small. This one can easily fit a whole sandwich, fruit (even a smallish whole banana can go in the large bottom section under the sandwich tray), veggies and a dip/yogurt. Fits snugly inside our ‘standard’ rectangle kids’s decorative zip lunch box. Doesn’t have gaskets that grow mold underneath. Screw cap container is leakproof, but I wouldn’t say the other main part would hold liquid, not that you would do that. But it is fully divided and nuts/crackers put in the top tray ‘shelf’ won’t go into the other parts, which is awesome. Love it! Got 2, one was green one was purple. ... show more
