Great machine. Tons of accessories I'll never use, but for the creative they would be great. I gave 5 stars, though 4 might have been appropriate, because the auto needle threader is more tricky than I would like. It is difficult to use. I called Singer to get a manual. They sent me a link along with a couple videos demonstrating threading, etc. You will definately want to do that, too. The videos are clear and helpful. The manual is thorough and much needed. I am an experienced sewer, yet needed those details for this new machine. I had a Singer for 50 plus years! Sewed my sons clothes and created quilts, etc. With all those memories I was sad to replace it. But it would cost more to repair the old than to buy new. I wanted another Singer because mine had lasted so long! This machine is so much more powerful. I'm sewing a waterproof canvas patio cover. Incredibly better. I've sewn more than half on the old machine; and now, with this new machine, it stitches so easily! The straight stitches are a breeze, the added bulk of tie-down grips are much easier as the machine feels like its simply straight stitching rather than bogging and trudging through thickness. I like it . I used the button foot attachment . I hemmed a few pants still trying to learn how to work it . Obviously, the name speaks for itself. It’s a good sewing machine. I still have to learn how to do the blind stitch but it’s time-consuming.

    • I honestly expected something better
I've had a few sewing machines in the past, and like everything, they are built cheaper and cheaper and less quality as time progresses. Knowing this I thought that maybe Singer would be a bit better. Honestly, I'm disappointed with Singer and this machine. While it does work, the quality of the stitch could be a lot better. I have tried different threads, needle, and tensions, just for some plain denim jeans, and the best stitch I could achieve was about 20% of what I was expecting. My mother always used Brother and grandmother used Singer. Next time I will purchase a Brother and hope for the best. ... show more

Purchased in December and it continuously jams. I should have returned it before the expiration. The local service place said it would not be worth the $99 to fix it.
