This mid-century modern industrial collection has a clean angular metal base, with square, simple modern drawer and table top. With no visible hardware, and only simple wood pull handles, the solid Rubberwood top, is simple and uncomplex. The Banting Desk has two working side drawers with ball bearing drawer glides and one centre flip down drawer/keyboard tray to maximize functionality. The 24" x 60" size is large enough for a well appointed home office, and narrow enough to fit into your living room or even kitchen. It looks stylish once assembled and resembles its pictures online. However, it smells terrible. For the first day it was absolutely awful. We opened the windows of the room it was in, and turned the ceiling fan on high, to try to get rid of the smell. We've had it for a couple of days now, and we're still airing out the room it's in. The smell is better now but it's still there. At this rate, it should hopefully be stink-free in another day or two. Yet, the stink was a very nasty surprise, and the reason I knocked a star off of the desk's rating. We've ordered furniture online before, including furniture from Amazon. We also ordered this desk directly from Amazon, and not from a 3rd-party seller. We'd never before ordered a piece that smelled THAT bad on arrival, though. Don't waste your money! As with several other reviews, the top is damaged. The way it's assembled, you cannot tell until it's complete. Now it must be taken back apart and returned- no small feat for a desk this size ... An absolute waste of time. The damage is obvious of being stored with significant weight in top as the wood as been compressed. Despite negative reviews, these faulty desks are still being shipped showing little care from the manufacturer. Very disappointed. ... show more

The top was damaged sadly. The desk is beautiful, solid and easy to put together, I did it on my own. Sadly, when I attached the base and flipped it over I noticed the top was damaged. I am not going to take it apart and ship it back

Do not buy this table. The top came damaged, and the drawer does not work. they agreed to send another top. Then they said we need to return the desk and order another. It is now beyond the month return period, and we no longer have the shipping box. They are making this our problem.

Shipping was fast and product was well-packed. 4 stars only because the desk has some slight damage that may or may not have occurred during shipping. I love this giant desk! I use it as part vanity, part workspace and I love rolling from side to side, drawer to drawer. Great if you like to spread your books or paperwork out, even for crafts. It was challenging putting it together by myself simply because of the weight but I got it done.

I really like this desk. It is sturdy and there is plenty of working surface. Love that it has a keyboard drawer. Only negative is that the top of the desk is rough. You need to use a piece of glass or plastic to write on.
