  • Works
It works. It is a bit cheaply made. It winds up perfectly. I use the big cones of thread most of the time. I had a cone stand that has an extender bar that I use when using these cones for my regular sewing machine.. After playing around with it a bit on the extender pole, I finally figured out to make it extended as high as it would go and it worked great. No jiggly spool and it wound it smoothly and evenly. It is hard to get the bobbin on and off the holder. But it can be done. It’s just super tight. You need to move the stopper over to the bobbin before you start winding. Think it is a bit overpriced for the quality of it though. ... show more

  • It works
I was in the midst of making a quilt when the bobbin winder portion of my 30+ year old Kenmore sewing machine decided to stop working. I chose the Simplicity bobbin winder because it seemed to have a few more positive ratings than some others which looked more elaborate and cost more. I received the winder very quickly. The instructions are not very good. There seems to be more information printed about safety precautions and interference with electronics and electronics interference with this machine (?), instead of writing clearer instructions. This took some trial and error to figure it out. I used the adaptor and when my first attempt to fill my empty bobbin failed (totally my fault as I didn't push the thread through the eye), I corrected my mistake, but then pushing the on button didn't turn it on. I unplugged the adaptor and then plugged it in and the bobbin began twirling, but I wasn't holding the thread at the beginning, so the bobbin wouldn't fill up. Eventually I got things going and the bobbin was filled, but the automatic stop didn't seem to want to activate, so without an off switch, I unplugged it and installed my bobbin into the sewing machine and continued sewing my quilt. My Simplicity filled bobbin worked fine. When it ran out, I inserted my empty bobbin into the winder and everything went fine, but the automatic stop did not work. I found that I could just take my finger off of the on button to turn it off this time around. Really, I'm OK with that. I unwound the excess and inserted the bobbin into my machine and the filled bobbin worked fine. So, overall, I am happy with my Simplicity bobbin winder, but I suspect better instructions would benefit the customer greatly (at least this customer). ... show more

  • Not exactly as good as the sewing
Machine itself. After thought, it's still kind of a pain in the butt to have to stop in the middle of selling and change out the bob and whether you're doing it on this machine or on the sewing machine. And for me it is just as easy to do it on the machine. Also it's faster and more convenient to do it on the machine. If you wanted to make a bunch of bobbins up prior to sewing, it might be useful. Still you could do that on the sewing machine. ... show more

  • A must for all sewers & quilters
I can continue to sew while bobbins wind. No more having to rethread my machine after winding bobbins.

  • did not work with my brother bobbins
I tried several times to get this product to load my brother bobbin (pacesetter ULT2003D). It loaded unevenly and was a pain to even get it to do that. It feels flimsy and I had to hold it to keep it from moving around. It may work fine for other models but not the bobbins I use.

  • Easy to use
I like using this better than doing it on my embroidery machine. It’s convenient to wind my bobbins on this while my projects are being made.

  • Works good with right bobbin
Wrong size for my bobbin tried to use anyway kinda worked but for the taller bobbin it would be awesome my bobbins were the more flat round ones need to find one that would work for my type hard to tell only give four stars because wrong size

  • Very small and compact!
Super handy! The small size allows me to keep it close by for when I need it, but still not in the way. It is made of plastic, not super flimsy but not something that could take being dropped too much. Over all happy with this purchase.
