    • Much better compared to knock-off

I ordered this (SimpleHuman) dispenser and one of the identical-looking knock-offs at the same time to see whether they were comparable because SimpleHuman is twice the price of the knock-offs. I kept this one and returned the knock-off because, side-by-side, this one is just more solid and obviously better built. This is heavier, stainless steel, and the knock-off was chromed plastic rather than stainless steel. I liked that the knock-off had an ability to “lock” each dispenser in place, in case you accidentally dislodge it, while this SimpleHuman doesn’t allow that, however I’ll just avoid knocking into it and there won’t be a problem. On the SimpleHuman, one of the pumps failed in the first two weeks and I tried to adjust the issue through customer service, which seems to be only “chat” based, however I found that process cumbersome and it was near the expiration of the Amazon return period, so I executed an “exchange” with Amazon, and that resolved the problem, no fuss, within two days. That’s why you deal with Amazon, I guess. I bought this to begin with because I had only one usable arm after a total shoulder replacement, so I had to operate the pumps with only one hand while my other arm was in a sling. This is easily operable with only one hand. Each pump dispenses precisely the same amount of product (shampoo/conditioner/body wash) with each pull on the lever. I really like this because it’s faster, no slippery bottles get dropped, and it’s more conservative of product as well. I also have a bed-and-breakfast style, push-button, three bottle dispenser in another bathroom shower. I like this pull-lever style better than the push-button because with the push-button I tend to need two hands, though one hand use is possible. This lever-pull style is more inviting of one handed use. Compared to the knock-off, the adhesive on this unit for mounting to the shower wall seemed superior. This uses 3M adhesive and the knock-off used something else, thinner, not well trimmed. Altogether, the mounting system seemed better executed. In this case, you get what you pay for, if quality is what you’re looking for. Unless you’re strapped for cash, I think this is worth twice the price of the knock-off and it will last longer over time. ... show more

We moved to another place and we used gorilla glue tape to install in the new shower. It fell and one of the containers broke so we needed to buy another one. Be sure you follow directions to clean the surface and use the original glue, or better drill holes, as we did the second time, to secure it to the wall. ... show more

Easy install and dispensed a good amount that allows flexibility in how much you want - the adhesives seemed to hold well, but I opted to also screw in to be safe since there will be a lot of liquid and weight pulling on this often

I have used these pumps for over 7 years. There are so many similar products on the market, but all of the comparable products I found were junk. These stood up to regular daily use over 7 years. I was renting and moved a few times so I avoided screwing through the tile/fiberglass/etc.... It was incredibly easy to mount and had no issues of falling over multiple years. I started by removing the 3m tape and throwing it in the garbage, covering the back of the mounting plate with clear tile and tub silicone. I placed the mounting plate in the desired location and left in in place without the pumps attached for 24 hours. During the 24 hours I did not expose it to water. This worked great for me multiple times in multiple different homes that used acrylic, fiberglass, smooth glazed tiles, porous tiles, etc... No mold, perfect hold. -Pros ---Top grade materials ---Good feel to the pumps as you squeeze them ---Clean simple aesthetic ---Tiny, clear, built-in labels on the pump lid ---Guests love them ---Simple install ---Simple to uninstall (if you attach to wall only using silicone) Cons ---The thin clear protective film can become compromised and peel off over time. Once this happen you have to clean and wipe the unit off to prevent rust. (I have purchased this unit multiple times for multiple bathrooms over the years. The current film they use if much better and withstands this issue better. Pictures attached of old pumps with peeling film (labeled Conditioner in photo) ---The notion of using this 3m tape is a joke. Don't even bother, its a waste of time. ---The tiny little built in labels for the pumps I listed as in the "Pros" section, well its a con for guests as they will never notice those tiny little labels. ---All simple human products love printing their brand on the front. This product would look so much cleaner and better with the brand on the rear. ... show more
