Purchased these in dark grey and they work fine for my teenage son - they are black out curtains. The material is smooth in appearance but to the touch they feel like they will snag or pull (they haven’t though). They are not lined and are the same color front and back. These are amazing blackout curtains. They are lite weight but block the light coming in my windows. I bought these for my living room. I have very large windows in the living room that always make it hard to watch TV during the day time. But as soon as I hung these up, I could view the TV without any glare on the screen. And I bought the gray blackouts, to match the sofa and love seat covers. It makes my living room look so beautiful. I put navy sheers between the gray blackouts. It looks amazing.
