Linen takes time and patience to become soft, but it's worth it. Even with the cotton blend, these felt quite rough straight out of the box, so I immediately washed and dried them. Out of the dryer, they were already far softer. Now after a few weeks of using them, they feel approximately like new flannel, but cooler. So, if you're among those likening them to "sandpaper," just wash and dry them ... and I recommend putting wool balls in the dryer to help beat them up. As much as I like the material itself, I can't give them five stars. As soon as I put them on the bed, I saw one corner of the fitted sheet had not been sewn up the full way. It's not that the thread came out. It appears to just not have been sewn. Since I'd hastily washed the sheets in my excitement to try them out, I wasn't going to return them. It was an easy enough fix to sew the side up myself, but I shouldn't have to repair a seem on brand new sheets. I will be looking elsewhere for future purchases, and I recommend other purchasers check the quality of seems and stitching before the first wash. ... show more

I had never had a linen cotton blend sheets but I am so happy I tried them! I did wash them before use which made them softer and with each wash they become softer. I love these sheets and would definitely recommend them! The thing that I like best is they keep you at the perfect temperature!

I am a "hot" sleeper - I need to be covered and feel warm to fall asleep. With most sheets, that means that I eventually get too hot and and wake up damp/sweaty. Not anymore! These cotton & linen sheets are actually breathable and don't trap heat under the covers.
