I had never owned a Stanley cup or any other cup like this, so this is my first. I actually saw this brand mentioned in a “test/comparison” tik tok video, and since it performed better than a Stanley, I figured I’d give it a shot considering the reasonable price (the Stanleys always seemed too expensive for me). It’s perfect!! The straw is nice and wide (AND it comes with two straws!!), and I love the rubber straw hole that keeps the straw in place and keeps water from leaking out if you tip it over. Basically, if you tip it over, water will only really come out of the straw itself a little bit, but won’t come out anywhere else. I REALLY love the secureness of the lid, and I love that you can twist the lid into different positions so that the straw can be in different positions depending on which hand you prefer to hold your cup in. Of course, my favorite part is that the entire cup is dishwasher safe. I generally avoid buying any water bottles/cups that aren’t dishwasher safe (because I absolutely hate handwashing and the cups sit there in the sink for a week until I get up the energy to hand wash them). I got the 40 oz in the leopard cream color/design and I have to say that it is the prettiest cup I've ever owned, lol. I was thinking about getting a Stanley but was hesitant about the price, so I looked into other options. I was sold on the Simple Modern because of the spill-proof seal around the straw. As soon as it arrived, I tested it and it works great--the only spillage comes out of the straw itself, and only if you tip it downward. It keeps my water cold all day while I'm working, which helps motivate me to stay hydrated (I drop in a fresh lemon wedge each morning and it's perfect). The only drawback is that it's a bit heavy, but I'm assuming that's standard for well-insulated tumblers. Just don't drop it on your foot! ... show more

Okay first of all, it came with TWO straws!!! I do wish it came with a straw cleaner because the ones I have aren’t big enough but it is what it is. I’ve never owned a Stanley so I can’t speak on which is better but I can tell you that I’m glad I only spent $30 on a tumbler. Has a handle, can move the straw position, minimal leaking, and it’s easy to take all the rubber parts out to clean. Also it’s a lot more sleek, Stanley cups are bulky which I didn’t like. And there are soooo many color options for Simply Modern. 12/10 ... show more

I was on the market for a 40 oz water bottle. I didn't like the idea of getting an Stanley, as I find them clunky and large and just taking up too much space. Plus Stanley's aren't leak proof. I have two dogs who tend to knock things over so I didn't want my water to get spilt everywhere in the case they knocked it over. I held off on ordering until I stumbled across Simple Modern. I find the designs sleek and cute, minimal branding, and for the most part - leak proof. So much better then my stanley. Stays colder longer, size is perfect, fits in cup holder in car. Not bulky or heavy. No leakage with spill proof straw area! A+++ and plus it’s Mickey! Wouldn’t say I’d put in dishwasher tho!
