Simple Modern 30 oz Tumbler with Handle and Straw Lid I looked at several tumblers including the Stanley and it's various imitators. I bought the Simple Design because it was half the price of the Stanley, I liked the looks better than the Stanley, and the color was unique to this brand/model. This will not keep ice water cold for 24 hours. That's frankly not a consideration as I drink it all before then. Filled with cold water (37ºF) it won't keep an ice cube solid overnight. Who in their right mind would expect it would. I haven't used a Stanley or Yeti, but I'd think just about any other tumbler will need ice to keep liquids cold for 24 hours. I make large ice cubes out of 14 oz Tom Collins glasses. Exposing the glass of ice to room temperature for a few minutes lets me pour the water and huge cube into the s|m and top it with cold or ice water. That will stay very cold for well over 24 hours in 75-85º room temperature. This is better than most of the many 'insulated' tumblers I've accrued, mainly as promotions. The Stanley may well keep water colder longer with less prep. The s|m works well for me. It comes with two plastic straws that have a noticeable taste to them. Anyone who has every used a Camelbak hydration pack would know the taste. I didn't find it a deal breaker but since I already had some glass straws, I decided to use them. If I were going to use the tumbler outdoors I'd go back to the plastic (to avoid breaking the glass) without a quibble. But I can understand how some might object to its taste. Metal straws might be an option. I don't know if they'd impart a taste. Some flatware does, some doesn't. Since they conduct heat, I'm sure there would be *some* negative effect on the temperature of the contents but then I don't use flatware with water. One s|m thing I didn't consider when I purchased it was the 1/4 turn feature of the lid. Due to the large diameter of the lid, the straw is off center allowing it to be placed closer to your mouth. Filling it up I saw that the straw could be placed in four positions relative to the handle — 12. 3, 6 and 9:00. For most of us the 12/6 positions would make it a right or left handed tumbler. Or allow it to be placed on your right or left depending upon convenience. I locate the straw where I want it to end up, then rotate the lid approximately 95º anti-clockwise until it drops into the grooves. A 1/4 turn clockwise and it's sealed tight. This is a feature I use all the time, moving from one room to the next. The style, build quality, performance and bang for the buck all make me happy. This is a solid buy. ... show more

I decided to try the Simple Modern 30 oz Tumbler with Handle and Straw Lid after being so impressed with my Simple Modern Travel Coffee Mug Tumbler with Flip Lid, and I’m so glad I did! This 30 oz tumbler is perfect for keeping my water cold for hours, and the larger size means I don’t have to refill as often throughout the day. The handle makes it super easy to carry around, and the straw lid is ideal for sipping on the go without worrying about spills. I use it exclusively for water, and it does an amazing job of keeping my drink refreshingly cold all day long. I’ve had this 30oz tumbler a couple weeks now and I’m loving it. First of all, it’s sleek, the handle is comfortable and not super heavy. My ice water stays cold for hours. I also love that there are 2 straws included so I can wash one each nicht. And the straws are thicker than average size so I can get a size able sip. AND this morning I accidentally kicked my tumbler down the stairs (ugh!) and to my shock it didn’t scratch the paint coating at all. There is a slight dent but it’s almost unnoticeable. AND with my straw cover on ( that I bought separately) there was no leaking after the fall. I was shocked! I’m going to order another one right now! ... show more

I ordered this after returning the Hydroflask equivalent. I love the fact that the lid screws on (less opportunity for catastrophic spills). And the fact that the lid tightens at quarter turns is genius! Now you can position the straw where you want it. The insulation is stellar.
