So I have this 60w bulb being tested inside an 18inch tall melamine fully enclosed enclosure. I have an electric thermometer sitting directly under it on a wooden round bark hide and while house stays 75, this spot hasn't quite reached 90 degrees. So I'd say this increases interior enclosure temp by about 10deg from ambient in a 3x2x18 in the hot spot. I need this spot to reach 90-95 so will be trying a 75w next. ... show more

Decided to try some of these in my girl's coop. Usually only use heat when the temps get down near single digits and thought these might be safer than the big red bulbs. Unfortunately while they get too hot to touch they radiate very little heat. Might be fine in a very small space but are useless in my coop.
