  • Great scope, works well.
I put this scope on my crosman 2100 pellet rifle. Great scope for the job. Sighted in and holding zero. I told Amazon it was defective and got a second one for free. “Amazon is dumb” 😀

  • Performs adequately for the price, but could be improved at little to no cost by the factory.
The Good: The image is as bright and crisp as any cheap Chinese 32mm scope should be expected to be. The build quality seems fairly robust. The best thing this optic has going for it is the very light weight. The fast focus eyepiece is also convenient and effective. The Bad: Just one thing: the "generous" eye relief (as manufacturers like to call it) is simply way too much for a rimfire rifle, and it results in a fairly small image. Small eye box makes eye relief and position much more critical than many similar scopes I own. Simmons built a lightweight, robust, attractive, and clear scope for a low price. My complaint is that the ridiculously long eye relief forces the shooter to mount the scope very far forward in the rings. This may not be an option on rifles with short length of pull. or short mounting bases. The real problem is that the absurdly long eye relief produces is that the image through the scope is smaller than it needs to be. After looking through any of my Bushnell scopes at similar magnification, the image from the .22mag just seems too small and far away. The "generous" eye relief is great on low-powered magnum-level dangerous game recoil with obscene recoil, but is just a hindrance to solid performance for a rimfire scope. I think the huge following of the .22mag scope is based on internet gossip. A few people bought this scope and liked it pretty well, so they told their friends and talked them up in the forums. Then, as forums are so wont to do, people read these reviews and then regurgitated the praise like it was the gospel. Rest assured, this is an average scope for the money, and a very poor scope compared to scopes costing only slightly more. I bought this scope based on its good reviews and the very light weight, as I was mounting it on an ultralight ruger 10/22 that I recently assembled. (3 lbs, 7 ounces without scope). The scope has held zero fine, and tracks about as well as can be expected for a cheap chinese optic, but it just doesn't ever make me think, "Wow, I can't believe the great quality of this scope!" I also tried a Simmons 3.5-10x44 side focus scope and had basically the same complaint with it. It had absurdly long eye relief and a tiny eye piece, which made it painfully underwhelming to look through. I think I will stick to Bushnell for budget optics from here on out. I have NEVER been dissatisfied with a Bushnell product, and I guess I can stomach the extra couple of ounces to know that I will have a scope that is actually enjoyable to look through. ... show more

  • Works good
At first I started a return, but decided to keep. Good view on things further away. I am used to my 3-9x40, so I was a little thrown off. Works good, look forward to sighting it in

  • SUPER Value!!!
I have been looking for a good quality scope for a Ruger 10/22 rifle. I was not looking to spend more on the scope than the rifle. I looked at Tasco, Bushnell, BSA & Barska. They all had offerings in the target price range, 4x/32mm or 3-9x/32mm. I found a Bushnell that was very impressive but is a model that no one stocks anymore [but still on their webpages]. I was not very impressed with the clarity of the Tasco, BSA or Barska's. I started reading a lot of reviews in forums on this scope. The best price was on Amazon, for about $33 delivered I was skeptical. I received it in less than a week in perfect condition and all I can say is WOW! Yes, it is made in CHINA...everything is these days and that's a whole other topic for me. But it is a really solid well made scope that gets the job done. I love the recticle pattern and focus knob, some said it was too tight, mine turns with just the right twist resistance. The optic brightness is similar to a 12 year old Nikon I have and like that I originally spent nearly $200 on. I'm not saying it is a Nikon BUT is in the legendary brightness range of a Nikon. I would definitely buy this one again. I'll post an update as I use it and sight it in. UPDATE: 4/12/2014: Still happy & recommend this scope for what it is [see above] My son uses it on his 10/22 from 50' [indoor range] to 100 yards, it will occasionally drift from zero a tiny amount, not enough to miss your target but so you just cant drill the target with it. My son really likes my 4x Nikon [I also reviewed that one] and keeps trying to convince me to 'trade'. Nice Try son! Anyways he is saving his money to buy a Nikon, which is fine b/c he is getting older and will appreciate an optic upgrade especially when he buys it for himself. ... show more

  • Make shooting your 22 mag fun again!
I bought this scope to put on my Marlin bolt action 22 mag. A good upgrade from open sights, clear glass good dials, and a breeze to set up on your rifle. Make sure you set your eye relief correctly and you should be hitting bulls before no time. I would buy another if I had another 22 to put it on. Very happy with it. ... show more
