I am trying to rid my kitchen of all things plastic, especially those which are used to heat foods. I happened on this item and thought it would be great for my can of Progresso soup which I have for lunch. Alas, it is too small, especially if the soup boils over. BUT, I will simply order a series of larger sizes because in all other ways this is a superior product. The glass is thick and durable (unlike the glass of a tea pot I ordered last year which was made in China and so thin and fragile that it cracked after 2 uses). This is substantial.. The lid is excellent and cool when removed. It washes easily and I have no problem both cooking in it and eating out of it.

I ordered this because I cook for one often, and as such, I often have leftovers to reheat in the toaster oven. I was using a lot of aluminum foil sheets as lids, and was worried about toxins in my food, especially if tomato sauce was involved. No longer an issue. This item is perfectly sized for one portion, is oven-proof for reheating, dishwasher safe, and can even go from fridge to oven, although they recommend against temperature shocks. I thought it might have been hard to lift the lid with oven mitts on, until I realized it is perfectly round where the lid meets the body. So you can rotate the lid 90 degrees, and the "wings" stick out perfectly for lifting. The European borosilicate glass is lab grade, and it feels really solid; the lid stays on well due to its weight alone. I'm very happy with my purchase, and will definitely buy it again so I can have one to use while the other waits to be washed.

I don't leave reviews often but this casserole deserves credit for being the best casserole ever. The quality is excellent, the design is aesthetically pleasing and functions ergonomically. The size options are perfect. I hate plastic for storing and would never heat anything in plastic in the microwave or put plastic in the dishwasher to clean. This casserole is great for cooking then serving and storing all in one dish. Clean up is also a breeze. I have gotten two sizes and will be getting more.

I have many bakeware that I never seem to use because they are all large, and many don't have lids. Way back when, I used to host family holiday meals, and the large sizes worked. Now that everyone is scattered all over the country, it's just the two of us. We needed little dishes with lids, and I saw these and liked them. They work perfectly, and I've given away 75% of my other bakeware to nieces and siblings.

I have been searching for this size dish. It is the perfect size to cook vegetables in. It is the perfect size to store leftovers in. The reason I love it so much is that it has a glass top. I can easily microwave food items and not worry that they will splatter all over. Plus, there is no plastic involved so I feel extra safe eating the cooked/warmed products. Also, it is easy to clean, just put it in the dishwasher.

Nice looking Dish but Not as advertised @ 0.75 Quart (3-cups, 24 oz) Only holds 1-Pint or 2-cups (16 oz) so returned for credit as it's too small for my needs.
