Description

Give your home décor a satiny vibe with tropical vine Scindapsus pictus (satin pothos or silk pothos) in a hanging basket. Satin pothos is known as a forgiving, easy plant to grow and care for. Scindapsus pictus is beloved for its heart-shaped leaves with splotchy silver-grey variegation. The plant will arrive at your door fully rooted in a 6” hanging basket planter. While not a true pothos, Scindapsus pictus and pothos (Epipremnum spp.) are related -- both belong to the family Araceae. Place the plant on a shelf or hang it and enjoy its cascading charms. While the vines of satin pothos are capable of spreading in length to 10 feet, the plant can be pruned to achieve a bushier or tidier plant. The plant can be trained to climb as well. Seldom flowers as a houseplant. Satin pothos thrives in medium to bright, indirect light and is not fussy about water. Water when the top couple of inches of the soil feel dry. The red circled part is what I received. Definitely no trailing parts to this plant yet. It's also planted pretty deeply and there are some decaying leaves under the soil. I saw someone else mentioned that in their review also. Other than that it looks pretty healthy. Just like the last plants I got from them, it wasn't packaged like you might get from an Etsy seller, it just had plastic around the pot with a rubber band to hold the dirt in and then wrapped in one layer of paper. But they both arrived vertical and didn't seem to have spent very much time upside down, so I'm not sure if that is by design or if I just got lucky. The plants I've bought from Etsy sellers could have been shipped upside down the whole way and nothing would have happened because of the way they were packed. I specifically was hoping that this was more of a long trailing vine already even if it wasn't so bushy, but of course the picture makes it look like it's pretty bushy with a long trailing vine. And that is not the case. But it could have been worse! ... show more

Ordered this pothos as a gift and was surprised by how big it was. The leaves are the size of my hand, it’s healthy, and it was shipped perfectly. No damage at all and it was wrapped with care. It came as a pot but also has the separate hanger for it to be a hanging pot. For the price, it was comparable to other places I looked but with a much bigger size. When ordering plants online I expect to repot upon opening, but this one had me baffled. It broke into several pieces but the roots were kind of at various heights with the leaves, which tells me some of the props didn’t have any stem and some of them were sideways- rooting again. I had to put this all back together in 3 separate pots. 2 small and 1 mini. There’s a fair amount of plant to work with and it was overall healthy. I only had to cut off one yellow leaf. Two props leaves that didn’t take fell out. No pests to be seen or sign of any damaged leaves. I’m happy with the purchase, despite how confusing the repotting process was! I essentially got 3 plants and I’m excited to see if I can soon have them all bushy and thriving. ... show more
