  • Really saws well.
I like how easily it saws and the extra blade lock position. I cut a lot of medium tree branches and deadfall on the mountain bike trail. I carry it in my backpack. I've used Silky for over ten years. It retired my previous Corona folding saw. Still have it but it sits at home unused, does not get to go out on the trails anymore. ... show more

  • Convenient size
I use silky saws for trail work and they are excellent quality. The only problem with this model is the screw that holding the blade can loosen, I’ve heard others experienced the same issue. Otherwise I would give it a 5.

  • Hunter's review
Yep, > $30 for a saw might seem a little high, but I've already sawed down half a "junk" softwood deciduous forest on the original blade. Unlike some saws marketed to hunters, this keeps it's edge, although Have not had chance to try on hardwoods such as oak since I'm mostly in planted pines. I was pushing down so hard at the start, my wrist was tired and I had caused it to unlock from it's extended position. I thought it was defective, but then I figured out The "trick" to this is to not grind it into the limb you are sawing, but just apply modest downward pressure. All the serious sawing occurs on the back stroke and the curved blade really facilitates that. I recommend the large tooth curved blade and 170mm length, since the branch you want to saw while in the treestand is always further than you think ;) I put a piece of paracord on the handle so it won't fall if I'm sawing while high up in the treestand. Make the knot as small as you can and store in the holder with the knot against the blade. I thought it heavy when I first opened the box, but really don't notice the extra weight in my pack. Now I carry it all the time. ... show more

  • Great folding saw
Bought for camping. Sturdy and not overly large, easy to handle.

  • Sharp and smooth
It did everything I needed it to, and it was lightweight. Not sure what could be better at this price.

  • Great little saw
All silky saws cut fast and effective but the curved blade models cuts noticeably faster than their straight counterpart. This is a small saw to throw in a bag or put on your belt using the plastic case (Which isn’t the best). It will cut decent size limbs and trees but don’t expect it to cut big diameter logs. I’m my opinion it’s great for sawing small firewood, clearing brush, building a shelter, clearing limbs for my tree stand and so on. If you want to cut big stuff go with the larger version. If this sounds good then buy it now. The curved one is the best option even tho it’s a little more expensive. ... show more

  • Best folding saw ever!
After my first purchase, I bought several more in different sizes. I have a 7 acre property that needs landscaping work - lots of trees. I use my Silky saw for almost every cut and it has performed flawlessly. I have the Big Boy 2000, 240 (2x), 210 (2x), 170 (2x), and 130 (2x). I use the larger ones for the property and the smaller ones in my fire kit and my backpack for camping. I love them! ... show more

  • Its worth the investment, super sharp and handy. Try not borrow it out...
Great handy saw that is super sharp compared with other folding pruning saws that I have. This saw is really sharp to the point it is noticeable on how fewer strokes it takes to cut thru limbs. This saw is more than a pruning saw for it compact size and sharpness, will be useful for any survival pack or camping purposes. For the price, its worth it and make sure you don't borrow it out cause it will walk away or disappear. It is that good. ... show more
