I had previously used the 128GB micro sdcard from SP, actually from the same line (the purple one). It worked perfectly fine in my Nintendo Switch but I thought to myself after downloading a couple digital copy of games that a bump up would be better. So after a couple months I bought this 256GB card after my great experience with the 128 card. SP has simply continued to prove to me they make quality storage mediums. Not only did my Nintendo Switch of course gladly accept the card and show the larger amount of space but the read/write speeds have even improved which is always a plus. If you have a Switch then I highly recommend this brand as not only are they quality cards but also they are very affordable. These of course would be perfect to use in a multitude of devices that require extra storage. As for space on these, I always would mention in detail as a learning tip to other customers about how to never expect full space to be available. This card being stated at 256GB will never have 256GB available to the user and that goes for all manufacturers and memory mediums such as USB sticks and HDD/SSD. I usually go into deeper explanation but simply its due to a difference in measurement scale used (manufactures use 1:1 measurements so 256GB to them is 25,600MB of data or 1,000MB = 1GB. When the scale that techs know is 1,024MB = 1GB). And you also always have a chunk of data locked away for its allocated boot sector and internal tools needed to keep its memory working the longest for you. That's the gist of it so keep that in mind and know you're still getting a very decent upgrade on space. ... show more

I just received the Silicon Power 256GB Micro SD Card U3 SDXC, and it’s been fantastic right out of the box! I’m using it with my GoPro camera and drone, and it performs flawlessly with fast read/write speeds up to 100MB/s. The card has been super reliable so far, handling large files and quick saves without any issues. The included adapter is a nice bonus for easy transfers. For the price, this card is an absolute steal—great storage capacity and performance for the cost. I’ve had some bad experiences with off-brand SD card and hard drives and this one has not disappointed me. The memory card has so far held up to many cycles of reading and writing without an issue and has been helpful in storing large files due to it's great capacity for the price. It's speed is less impressive though, but should be fine for most people. Performance: Works like your average micro SD card. However I noticed if you're planning to use it in video cameras, dashcams, or anything that requires high speed writing on the spot, the card might start to fall behind after a few cycles and throw "SD card too slow" errors. Durability: Thankfully haven't had any issues with corruption, so in terms of durability it seems to be fine. The build quality of the card is really good too so it won't break as easily. Would recommend this to gamers who needs a large card to pair with their devices, or for people who needs a small and convenient way to temporarily store data on the go. Would still recommend a more permeant solution for data storage long term though, but this card does seem reliable enough as a hub for all your data that needs to be transferred. ... show more

PURE TRASH! I got to use it one time. It took several attempts to get it to identify and be recognized in one device (phone) and one try in another. So not very universal. I transferred a file system backup to it. Moved it to the second phone that it was most compatible with and had it there for about 6 hours before the chip disappeared. Wiping out all my data becoming incompatible with any device complete trash! Unrecoverable data. The device cannot be identified in any type of reader or electronic device it's trash! And my backup data that I put on it is now lost and it was my only copy once I have transferred it I deleted it from my other source. So I have nothing but hard feelings against this manufacturers piece of trash device. Obviously I'm choosing kind words to say! So truth being, it is NOT easy to install. The size compatibility is becoming more common. I can't tell you about data transfer rates as I only got two store data on here once and it was kind of slow. But again I would not recommend this device for anything. You put data on one of these to save it not lose it! You buy one of these for compatibility and you don't get that with this! We'll see what the manufacturer has to say about their piece of trash that I wasted my money on. ... show more

Unknown brand to me. First time using Silicon Power. Usually use SanDisk or other brands I've know for a long while but gave this one a shot. Card isn't a smaller one flashed to say it's larger, then when you go to add all the files it can't because it's a knock off. Had that happen before with USB sticks on amazon so I don't stray from name brands usually. This had all the correct speed markings and size for what I needed. Came with a basic Micro to SD card adapter in the pack with it. It reads and writes smoothly and I have filled up 200GB of the card already so I know it's legit. This card was 75% the price of the name brands (15$ vs 20$) so I gave it a shot and am enjoying it so far. I went in with low expectations and now will probably consider SiliconPower cards now as long as they are the same size and class speed but with the cheaper price tag. ... show more
