The pen set is a great way to get started using the sketch feature of your Silhouette machine. The drop in the holder with no extra parts and clamp right in. The multitude of colors will cover you for several different small projects. The metallics are especially fun when you want to add a little something special to your project. Best of all, they write clearly and smoothly every time you use them. These aren't cons to the set because the set is great, but if you're planning on doing a large project, you should first be aware that the pens themselves don't have a lot of ink. They're about a third of the size of a normal ink pen. Second, you can't order individual colors so if you run out your only option is to buy another set. When I decided to use my Silhouette to sketch all my wedding invitations and address all the envelops I shied away from using the set pens knowing this would be the case. I'm still giving the set 5 stars for the variety of colors and ease of use but you should be aware that they're really for making one project at a time, not large scale production.

I love using these pens with my Silhouette Cameo. What fun! I use them to sketch designs on the background of cards. They work beautifully. When Silhouette first came out with pens, they didn't write very well. They skipped a lot. I have not had that experience with these pens at all. Every one I've tried has written beautifully, no skipping at all. If you had a previous bad experience with the Silhouette pens, give these a try. They have really improved the quality of their pens, and these are awesome!

These are a lot of fun to play around with! I bought them specifically for card making and to add weird digital doodles to the borders of letters that I send to friends and they work pretty well for that. It's true that they are more expensive than regular gel pens, and there are technically ways to make regular gel pens work in a Silhouette, but I like the convenience and colour choices in this kit so I bought them to go along with the gold/silver/bronze/white kit that came with my Silhouette. - I tested every single one of these pens as soon as I got the package by pausing my machine to switch a pen after sketching a few letters. I tried a few different fonts and a few different speeds. - The pens worked great with all fonts. At higher speeds, most of them would start to skip areas so I slowed it down a little. The Silhouette Design Studio has a setting for these pens that auto chooses the speed, though, and that works just fine! - The light yellow one is the worst ever, but I only had occasional problems with 2-3 others (the peachy orange was a tiny bit too thin). The rest worked perfectly fine. - Before use, scribble on a piece of paper to get the tip clear of dry ink and get the ink flowing. - They dry somewhat slower than some regular gel pens that I have but not enough to worry about smearing after the first minute or so. - I've had them for four months and haven't had any problem with them drying out or anything like that. I'm not sure how much ink is in them since I haven't used one individual pen to the end yet. - The package they come in is sturdy enough to keep them in as storage. I often use them when I'm creating my own cut files instead of wasting the blade and wasting paper on test cuts. It can help show you exactly how the machine will cut it when your design is done.

These are really super cool. I just got my Cameo and ordered these to start and try out the sketch capability. The colors are a good variety and the ink flow is great. Iv had no issued with the pens dragging or what not. I am glad I got this pack. Its economical and a good way to get a variety when your starting.

I bought sketch pens when i first bought my silhouette quite a few years ago and they were awful. half of them never worked at all and the ones that did work would skip quite often. i liked these colors so i wanted to give them a shot and i was so surprised that they mostly all work! I had a couple colors that didn't work perfectly. so happy i decided to get these because the colors are amazing and bright.

I debated back and forth about purchasing this Silhouette pen set for my Cameo for several weeks, after reading reviews that it would be cheaper to just buy other pens for my Silhouette sketch projects. I bought those "other" pens, which required a bit of adjusting, as well as having to purchase the Silhouette pen holder for them. The "other" pens worked well enough, but my curiosity finally got the best of me, so I had to see how the Silhouette pens worked. I'm SO glad I bought them! So easy to use! You just remove the cutting tool, pop in the color you like (no adjusting the depth of the pen), lock that little puppy in place and you are good to go! Beautiful sketching! I love the colors in the set also. Worth every penny. VERY pleased with this product.

I would like these more if they had more ink in them. Seems you can only use them for 3 or 4 projects and then they are out of ink. And when I say project I mean I used them to address envelopes and after running a few (3 or 4) practice tries got one envelope made before the pen I was using ran out of ink. So word to the wise if you are new and need to practice pick a color you don't need or will not use for any of your projects to run your test with first before using the color you actually need. Other than that the pens are good and the Silhouette CAMEO works well with these pens.
