I just got these plates to add to my home gym. They appear to be of good quality and the finish looks good and seems like it should be durable. I would not recommend dropping them on concrete, since that would chip anything aside from a bumper plate, but otherwise, the finish feels tough and put on pretty thick. I have a bunch of Olympic plates that I've added over the years, and these help round out what I have. I wanted more 5 and 10 pound plates for incremental weight additions for some of the "smaller" lifts where I'm not making jumps with 25 or 45 pound plates. The plate diameter differs a bit from some of my existing plates, but that's not a big deal. The 5s are a little smaller diameter than my other 5s for example. I'm a little OCD about matching plates on both sides of the bar, but that's just a personal quirk. I just keep them in order on my plate trees and it's not any problem. I'll probably get some additional dates from this maker because the plates seem of good quality and the price point is very good. ... show more

I've owned many olympic plates over the years and these are my favorite. The handles/grips are comfortable and make them easy to move around. They are durable and great quality. The fit and finish are great. May not be as smooth in terms of laser cutting compared to other brands like rogue but you are paying three times less. And at the end of the day weight is weight. I ordered this weight plate set after trying to find similar things on Craig's List for a few weeks. The cost was similar to the iron plates that I would have gotten (they are generally ~$1/pound). The plates arrived quickly and were of decent quality. There was a plastic (chemical?) smell, but it dissipated over a week or so. Now, I don't smell anything. It is nice to have the plastic coating around the iron plates, so that when two hit or I put down the barbell quickly the sound is muted. ... show more

I did a lot of researching and looking around this was the best value for the price that I found. For some reason, 2 inch weights are way more than 1 inch as far as the hole goes. I decided on getting a 2 inch barbell and 2 inch weights as far as durability. I recommend getting these if you can grab them on sale I grabbed mine on sale and even the normal price is still a good deal. Compared to everything else that is out there if you’re looking for next day, you know that same week this is a good value to buy. And just as a reference, mine came the next day. Nearly didnt get these, but I kept looking and researching on Amazon. I noticed most buyers said the rubber smelled, the ones with grab holes were sharp, but the vintage buyers loved them . I dont mind the flat style of theses standard weights, the plates have no damage and raised letters and numbers were painted correctly and havent rubbed off yet. The box is about 3 inches tall, with banded wraps on 4 places, packege was then shrink wrapped tightly and weather pruff. these weights are accurate in weight, and box did have the clips in it compared to many whom report they didnt get theres. Also came in 2 days from amazon and remember, these are the VINTAGE style plates. These were also the olympic size. These also fit my olympic dumbells better than my Caps and Marcy do.. ... show more

Bought this for my son to start lifting weights at home, and get back into a bit of exercise myself. On arrival (rest of set coming at end of week), found it was packed very well, and the driver was super cool. Rubber coating on the weights is thick enough, and in great shape. The grip on it was great, and it will more than do the job intended. Wasn't the least expensive set, but by far, not the most expensive. I feel I got more than what I paid for.
