This mat is pretty large but it folds up easily for storage. It’s pretty thick and we’ve had no issues with ripping. We recently got a gymnastics bar and we use the mat under that with no problems. It has not effected the padding and my daughters use it almost every day. Very good quality!

Was looking for a cheap but nice mat for my 5-year-old to practice gymnastics. She's not the most graceful and still learning to perfect her cartwheel... and we have hardwood floors, so I wanted something on the larger side for when she doesn't land well. So far this mat has held up to some occasional use and a puppy with nails. It feels high quality and like it should last a decent amount of time. It surpasses my expectations for I paid. The mat is shy of 4 ft wide and a few inches short of 10 feet long (if exact measurements matters to anyone). The cushioning is actually a little more than 2 inches. It's almost too cushiony... if I could go back, I'd get only 1.5" inches or so, but its not enough of an issue to send back. My daughter doesn't weigh enough to really squish into the padding, it works fine. Overall, a great budget friendly mat for home use! ... show more

This mat is used a lot at our house. I use it for stretching in the morning. The kids use it for romping around in the living room and even use it to make blanket forts. When I need to get it out of the way I just fold it up and slide it into a corner or slide it into my closet. This mat is a really great size for actually being big enough to do a lot of activities on it like handstands and somersaults, and it's thick enough that when I kneel on it stays soft. Sometimes I sit on it to play with the kids because it's softer than the hard floor but still a stable surface. Works great for a board game on the floor, if you don't feel like sitting at a table. For a brief while I had concerns with daughter rolling off the bed onto a hardwood floor and we slid it folded up next to the bed at night to give her something to soft to land on just in case she fell out.
