The only thing wrong with this coffee/cocktail table is that the price is a bit hefty. It is made well by todays standards, but we all know the markup on furniture of any kind is way over the top and this table is no exception. I've had some very nice compliments on it so far and it seems to be a pretty stellar purchase. It needs to be said that I can't normally recommend anything made by Ashley furniture, because most of what they sell is poorly made and brings to mind the kind of bargain basement junk you would have found at Wickes or Levitz back in the 80's. Keep in mind that you cannot place a centerpiece in the 'center'. The middle hinge for the storage compartment prevents anything from being able to sit flat there. I confess, it bugs me a little, but the tradeoff is the very convenient storage, so it works out. If you're on the fence about purchasing this table, the only thing you need to think about is how to pay for it, because it is easy to assemble, looks great, hides living room clutter (blankets, throws, pillows, games, toys, etc.) and the lift section is great for a work surface. The wood top is real wood and it's pretty thick. Even if you ding the surface, I believe it will still look great because it's already rustic looking, but it exudes class, too. I am so in love with this table. It is EXACTLY what I wanted and so beautiful. It was a breeze to put together- only took about half an hour, if that. The only thing that took a while was removing the heavy duty staples from the underside where the box (with the table feet in it) was attached with straps. However, no one will see this area so it’s your prerogative to remove them or not. The table top that opens to use for eating and such does not lift very high, maybe 6 inches but that doesn’t bother me at all. It stays open until you close it- it doesn’t snap back down by mistake, which is awesome. It’s very sturdy and seems to be made id great materials. The top is definitely a nice thick wood. It’s much larger than I expected- I included photos with a bottle of water for size comparison. Also pictures as compared to the couch. The storage space inside is incredible! I only have one blanket in there at the moment, but you could likely fit several blankets and pillows in there! The price point is definitely worth it. I looked at other cheaper tables but they definitely do not compare to what you’re getting here. It was worth every penny! It’s really a great price anyhow. If anything changes with the durability, I’ll update at a later date. For now, I really LOVE this table. ... show more

The best and easiest purchase ever. I bought the coffee table, side tables and tv console. All look fabulous. They come somewhat pre assembled there making setup easier. They are so sturdy. I even added a few coats of polyurethane on top of the coffee table as an extra layer of protection. The lift top is so nice to have especially for storing all those extra throws and blankets. Harder to get out of the box then to put together. Great Table! Would order more furniture from Amazon! Was worried about the shipping and getting damage all was well. Love this Table! Thumbs up all the way! To remove the sticker under the lift part of the tabletop I took a hair dryer. Heated it up for a few seconds. Pilled it off and then took a clorox wipe and a paper towel after scrubbing the glue residue. Love this table ... show more

It’s super cute and sturdy - the color is exactly what I was looking for. It’s the perfect size for our living room not too heavy either! Love that I can store my blankets in it and also have a little table. My only reason for 4 stars are I bought this table in new condition and they sent me a returned one (thankfully everything seemed to be in good shape) customer service was extremely poor - this took almost a month to get here and I reached out for an update and the lady never got back to me after communicating. This table is shipped unassembled, but was relatively easy to assemble The first page of instructions was clearly explained in English, but the next 5 pages appeared to be illustrations likely of a Jenga Puzzle. They also included a separate bag of hardware that was labeled "IMPORTANT" but never explained. We couldn't find anywhere it could be used, so it's in our junk drawer. It's a beautiful table and well worth the price. My husband and I laughed our way through the instructions and nobody was injured during assembly, so we are very happy. ... show more
