This coffee table ended up being a great purchase for us. The price on Amazon was noticeably lower than buying direct, and assembly was much easier than expected. It came very well packaged — almost excessively — but everything arrived in perfect shape. The farmhouse style looks really nice, and my wife was very happy with how it fits into our living room. The distressed white finish matches the other tables we have from the same collection, and the colors are consistent across the set. The lift-top hinges work smoothly and hold the lids up without any issues. The storage space is very useful, and we’re using it for blankets, which keeps things tidy. The tabletop feels sturdy, and while the table isn’t overly heavy, it stays put and doesn’t feel flimsy. If I had to nitpick, the distressed look may not appeal to everyone, but that’s personal preference and part of the design. I love this coffee table! The rustic design matches my decor perfectly. What I especially love about it is the storage compartment inside. I keep my blankets in there so I don’t have to take up space in my closet and they’re easily accessible for anyone that may need one. The only thing wrong with this coffee/cocktail table is that the price is a bit hefty. It is made well by todays standards, but we all know the markup on furniture of any kind is way over the top and this table is no exception. I've had some very nice compliments on it so far and it seems to be a pretty stellar purchase. It needs to be said that I can't normally recommend anything made by Ashley furniture, because most of what they sell is poorly made and brings to mind the kind of bargain basement junk you would have found at Wickes or Levitz back in the 80's. Keep in mind that you cannot place a centerpiece in the 'center'. The middle hinge for the storage compartment prevents anything from being able to sit flat there. I confess, it bugs me a little, but the tradeoff is the very convenient storage, so it works out. If you're on the fence about purchasing this table, the only thing you need to think about is how to pay for it, because it is easy to assemble, looks great, hides living room clutter (blankets, throws, pillows, games, toys, etc.) and the lift section is great for a work surface. The wood top is real wood and it's pretty thick. Even if you ding the surface, I believe it will still look great because it's already rustic looking, but it exudes class, too. It's a great choice if any of those things are factors in helping you decide. I'm glad I got mine. ... show more

This table is BEAUTIFUL. It’s my most favorite piece of furniture in the whole house. It’s functional, it looks great , it’s super sturdy. I can’t say enough good things about it. I love it!!! Black in color with dark wood top. I love the metal accent pieces to add character. The top works easily and assembly wasn't too bad. Everything was included in. The box to assemble. Sturdy and quality as Ashley furniture usually is. Easy to move around also. Very happy!

I am so in love with this table. It is EXACTLY what I wanted and so beautiful. It was a breeze to put together- only took about half an hour, if that. The only thing that took a while was removing the heavy duty staples from the underside where the box (with the table feet in it) was attached with straps. However, no one will see this area so it’s your prerogative to remove them or not. The table top that opens to use for eating and such does not lift very high, maybe 6 inches but that doesn’t bother me at all. It stays open until you close it- it doesn’t snap back down by mistake, which is awesome. It’s very sturdy and seems to be made id great materials. The top is definitely a nice thick wood. It’s much larger than I expected- I included photos with a bottle of water for size comparison. Also pictures as compared to the couch. The storage space inside is incredible! I only have one blanket in there at the moment, but you could likely fit several blankets and pillows in there! The price point is definitely worth it. I looked at other cheaper tables but they definitely do not compare to what you’re getting here. It was worth every penny! It’s really a great price anyhow. If anything changes with the durability, I’ll update at a later date. For now, I really LOVE this table. ... show more

My Ashley farmhouse coffee table is simply beautiful! Quality made product! So very well packed in box. And so easy to put together, with only four sidepieces, the large top and bottom& the 4 ball feet, which just screwed into the bottom of the table. It took maybe 30 minutes to put it together.
