I am reminded each and every day, that I have never ever in my life been this old before. That reminder often comes as I search for my reading glasses to read my email or pull my phone out as far as I can from my face to read a text. Annoyingly this deterioration in my eyesight has started to affect my aim at the range. I purchased one of these scopes for my 6.5 creed rifle, and after dialing it in and using it for an afternoon, I purchased 2 more… one for my .556 and one for my 300black. These are phenomenal optics and I have all the power I need to dial in the shorter range shots and to scope something a bit further out when on a hunt. They are durable, stay well sighted, and although a bit heavier than my red dot / magnifier combo, they don’t affect the balance of the weapon too drastically. The FDE/bronze version looks great on my bronzed/FDE rifle as well.

This is my second Sig scope and although both are solid, neither of them have really blown me away. I bought this scope to replace a Trijicon Ascent 3-12x40 on my Ruger American Gen II in 300 Blackout because I realized I really need adjustable parallax. For some reason with my trijicon, I cannot seem to keep the reticle and my target in focus at the same time, its either one or the other. Ive convinced myself it has to be because of the parallax setting and so I decided to give this scope a shot. This scope seems to be built like a tank, its very heavy duty. The zero stop is very solid and reliable as well. The reticle is pretty thick but I do really like the BDC and the hellfire illuminated center dot is pretty cool. The glass seems to be very clear without much color tinting like others, at least for the price. Its also a huge plus that it comes with flip up lens caps and a screw in throw lever. Overall I think its worth the price but it does have some issues. First off the clicks on the elevation turret are pretty mushy which kinda stinks but again for the price I guess I cant complain and the windage turret is much better. I will however complain about the windage and elevation hashmarks not lining up with the markings on the scope body whatsoever. It is extremely annoying. It sits directly between the hashmarks no matter what position it is in (see pictures). After adjusting the elevation turret you have to push it back down to lock it in place and apparently thats not lined up either because you have to turn it slightly to be able to push it back into place. Lastly I would say viewing picture is very small with a tight eye box. I dont know if it directly related to the field of view, but compared to the trijicon, which is a slightly smaller 40mm objective with a 30mm body, the Sig is much smaller. This is a bit frustrating especially considering it also has a 30mm body but it feels like Im looking through a 1” scope. I also have a Vortex Crossfire II 4-12x40 AO that was under $200 and I think it has completely spoiled me. I like trying different optics but it has a 1” body and is better in almost every way. Im tempted to buy another one of those but for now I will keep the Sig and use it. Although I think there are better scopes for less Im sure it will be more than sufficient for my range day plinking. This scope is cool, it looks good and it has some great features but if youre trying to get the best bang for your buck, you may wanna look elsewhere!
