Hello. It is I, Tater Tot, chiweenie, household warlord, and part‑time meteorologist. I am here to review The Big Purple Umbrella, also known in this home as “That Thing Jeff Says Is Not Allowed in the Car.” First of all, this umbrella is HUGE. It is bigger than me, bigger than Diablo, and possibly bigger than the marital harmony between my humans. When it opens, it makes a WHOOSH sound that startles me in a way I can only describe as “deeply personal.” My mother loves it. She says it keeps her dry. I say it blocks my view of potential enemies, squirrels, and the mailman, which is unacceptable. My father, Jeff the Engineer, says it “takes up too much space in the car.” Sir. I have seen your toolbox. I have seen the cables. I have seen the mysterious metal objects you insist on keeping “just in case.” The umbrella is not the problem. Anyway, here are my findings: Color: Purple. Regal. Matches my aura of mischief. Size: Large enough to provide shade for a small village. Function: Keeps Mom dry, which is good because wet Mom is cranky. Storage: Apparently illegal in the car according to Jeff’s Laws of Physics. Taste: Not great. I tried. Five stars. I fear it.
