Side by Side Book 3 provides good conversation practice for ESL students and helps them build vocabulary and grammar knowledge. The Activity Workbook goes hand in hand with the student text. These were used with adult ESL students.

I bought this book to use to teach English to my students. I find it very useful. I like the format and method. I would very much like to find one that is in the Japanese language, but so far I have been unsuccessful.

We have been doing ESL at our church for about 6 years now and have used the Side by Side materials each year. We've shopped other products and have used others to supplement our curriculum. You didn't tell me that their where 2 different books. I bought the wrong one; the other one has a DVD included en is more extensive.

My wife and I have been using Side By Side since living in Japan as ESL teachers 1987-89. We used the first edition way back then.
