Great book for teaching English as 2nd language

I work with Japanese families living in the USA for about 5 years while their husbands work at a Japanese auto plant that also employs about 300 local people. The children and the mothers want to speak English as they become friends with their neighbors. The book was in excellent condition, almost brand new. We can erase the answers written in pencil very easily. Thank you. I like the side By Side Series because it is well written, and teaches good, American English.

Worth buying, but...

While tutoring an adult man in English (ESL), I found this book to be of some help. At least it gave him an "assignment" to do for homework and a consistent format on which to focus for part of our sessions. There are better resources available online and from our local library, online also.
