I really like the Side by Side books for high-beginners learning English. The dialogs aren't totally realistic but they're a good starting point, and the authors explicitly encourage students to make their own after practicing the forms. I'm disappointed at the book's condition. It was not as described by the seller. It had a melted candy of some sort inside the book that got some of its pages stuck together and eventually ripped them off on top...
