It fits a small lamp, my small desktop amplifier, and then room for a laptop and then some, or a notebook and other stuff. Plenty of space. The height is great too; it's not too tall to actively use; I tend to like to sit a little higher than my keyboard, and this is maybe right at the right height, depending on the chair.
