Description

Shurtape line set tape. For taping HVAC line sets. Used on outdoor HVAC components. US Green Building Council - LEED Point contributor product. Tape should be stored in its original packaging in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight and should be used within 24 months of date of shipment. Surfaces to which tape is applied should be clean, dry and free of grease, oil or other contaminants. Adhesion to stainless steel: 42 oz/in width. Service temperature range: -35 to 210 degrees F.

I used this to secure a foam insulation tube (much like a pool noodle) around an HVAC pipe. At first, I thought I could be stingy and run it lengthwise along the seam. Wow, that did not work at all. The tape refused to adhere to the foam. I decided to use the age-old wrapping technique, and that worked like a charm (so far). It took forever to wrap it around the length of two 5' tubes, but I'm pretty sure it'll hold throughout the winter and well into the spring. The material is a bit thinner than I expected, and it will tear easily if punctured (no embedded fiber, so not like duct tape at all). However, if it holds the foam and doesn't crack/fall apart from UV exposure, I will be a happy camper. ... show more

Good with one caveat
This tape sticks very well to itself, but doesn't stay adhered to other materials unless they are very smooth. When I used this to seal up a long slit in insulation, it seemed to do well when applied. But two days later it's coming off. The insulation was that UV protective stuff on the outside. This was happening in the attic and outside. However, when I need to wrap around insulation so that it wraps onto itself, then it stays put. Appears to be holding up good after a real hot summer.
My line set gets lots of sun. This wrap has been on since April 2026. Still looks good. I made sure when I applied it that it was stuck on good. Still looks fine.

Its a sticky situation.
It's ok. It works but like others have said the stickiness doesn't last but mine is still on. It could be better. You could get new foam then use this and it might help. I used my old foam.
