  • Absolutely loving this on the ROG Zephyrus G14!
Size: RH-US-68 R
I think the pictures speak enough. This keyboard has the exact same length as the G14, making it perfect for typing on it, and also carrying around. I won't have to worry about your keyboard being bigger or smaller than your laptop, and I plan to use this keyboard for programming. The way I have it set up has no keys on the laptop's keyboard depressed, so I can use the keyboard as normal and get the extra feel without any inconvenient distance between the keyboard and the laptop itself. The keys are excellent and barely make any sound. You can also pull out the keycaps (and even the switches!) if you have to clean the keyboard or want to modify it. Although this keyboard is impressive both aesthetically and functionally, there are a few usability features I'd like to mention. The keyboard shortcuts on this are extremely awkward. As you may have noticed, this keyboard isn't tall so it's missing a function key row. To use function keys, press fn+(number key). While this may he okay for casual users and gamers that don't use function keys, it will be a pain for gamers who do use function keys because they are simply omitted from this keyboard. Another thing to mention is that the backtick key (` and ~) is on the other side of the keyboard. This is to make it feel better when typing on it, but it provides a couple usability flaws I'd you're a programmer and use that key occasionally. I accidentally hit esc a few times trying to press it because I forgot it was on the other side of the keyboard. One more thing about this keyboard: it's very fast and responsive when typing and quiet too! I typed at 113wpm (with several mistakes) but the keyboard barely made any sound! My hands felt comfortable and I think this is a solid keyboard. In the demo, I used it wirelessly, but you can also use it via Bluetooth or a 2.4G dongle USB connection. However, you'll need batteries to use these modes. Batteries are not included, which can be frustrating if you don't have any, but I was able to power it up with a couple of AA batteries. I'm assuming the batteries not being part of the keyboard is supposed to make it lighter, and if you have a standard AA battery charger, you can use rechargeable batteries and swap them out when they die, making your keyboard always usable. I have another similar keyboard for my desktop, and while I like the desktop keyboard, I think I'll use this one more on-the-go. However, I would not replace my desktops keyboard because of the missing function keys. However, this is still an amazing 65% keyboard! ... show more

  • Colorful Display!
Size: RH-US-68 R
Bought this keyboard as an external for my daughter's laptop. She wanted a more mechanical keyboard instead of the integrated laptop keyboard and this item delivered. The quality is apparent right away. If you have not used a quality keyboard before, then be sure to read the instructions! The keyboard offers connection flexibility including wired, wireless via usb and bluetooth. You have to select which connection method you use for the keyboard to sync correctly. This is clearly stated in the instructions, but I missed it when I first tried to use the keyboard because I didn't read them. The keys are great, but they take getting used to. In the beginning, my fingers kept hitting the sides of each key because each key is grooved deeper than I was used to. But, I quickly adapted and it's no longer a problem. In fact, the deeper groove has been helping me ensure I am only pressing the desired key and not engaging two keys at once by accident. The keyboard is very colorful and will run different light patterns and sequences. My daughter really likes it and loves to show her friends. Overall, great keyboard! ... show more

  • It's aesthetically nice, but not...the best.
Size: RH-US-68 R
I'm divided about this keyboard. 1. Aesthetically: it's really nice. The soft caps are nice, the sounds aren't super loud. It's accurate for what I've been using it for. The lights...are nice. They're soft. There's a bunch of different modes you can choose from, though the default is probably the best and most functional. 2. BUT....for the one I got, the battery compartment isn't detecting. Also...battery??? There's no built in battery. You can install 2 AAA batteries if you want to use it truly wireless...maybe. But I've tried 2 different sets of AAA batteries...mine's not working for some reason. If I plug it in (the only way I can truly test it), it works. If I plug it in then use bluetooth OR the wireless dongle to connect, it works. But if on pure battery...it doesn't. 3. Another pro feature...the wireless dongle is installed within the keyboard so if you're transporting it and are dependent on using it, it'll be securely with the device. 4. Keeping track of all of the keyboard shortcuts? I don't know...I kept having to go to the Amazon description of the device...then look at the shortcuts there. I mean, for about a solid 30 seconds, I'll remember them...but soon forget. And if I didn't use if for a week? No way I'd be remembering them... To summarize. Looks nice. It has LOTS of features. I think the price point of maybe $50-75 would be a fine pricepoint for it. For reference I use a Razer mini keyboard (wired) as my normal daily driver at work. I don't think it'll replace it but will function as a backup. 1 star off because of the battery not working issue (can only use wired, which actually is fine...for my lightup keyboards, I usually prefer wired bc they last longer...I don't like to depend on batteries). 1 star off b/c of the difficulty in remembering the shortcuts. There are no keyboard markers as reminders. I forgot to include, it does come with this mousepad. Uncertain why. All the shortcuts are written there so I guess if your'e using it it'll be fine.... It's expected quality (nothing stands out as good or bad; I can't comment on long term endurance of the material, but short term, there are no rips) ... show more
