For me this is an adequate practice microphone. Especially like that it has an on/off switch. I use an old guitar amp for practice pa system and have had no issues with the microphone used through this amp; as a matter of fact, some of the amp effects can be used to modify voice. This is a great, solid, well made Shure Microphone and it’s bundled with the XLR-1/4” plug that I needed. I’m using it primarily with my Roland E-4 Voice Tweaker for Vocorder and special Voice Effects. Having the on/off switch on the Microphone is a nice feature when using it for my particular application. It has great dynamic range and more than enough gain.
