These mounts are sturdy and well-made, and I can see more uses than just what is listed in the description. I am a crossbow hunter and a gun hunter. We hunt out of tripod stands. These will solve two issues we have. One is what to do with the crossbow while you sit there for hours waiting for a nice buck to come by. If I mount the U shape mount up, my crossbow can rest across the mount and the stand arm or install two U brackets to support the entire crossbow. This provides a safe place for the crossbow to rest, and it is closer to the action when needed. When we hunt gun season, I point the U shape bracket inward on the stand and set the gun barrel in the U shape pointing towards the sky. To me, this is much safer than just sitting it in the corner of the stand where it could slide down the metal rail and fall over. It has happened before. ... show more

Got these to allow me to have my hands free in the stand (often so I can keep my hands warmer in my pockets, haha). It attached to my stand frame quickly and easily, and held it in an upright position that allows me to access my bow smoothly and quietly when a prey animal approaches. I've not left them on for an extended period of time, so I cannot say whether it stays tightened down over days and weeks, but it did just fine for several sits over the course of two days.
