  • Single locking cam action lever HDPE plastic fence surface for extremely low sliding resistance
  • Standard rails provide 25-Inch maximum rip to the right of the blade

Description

A Classic, time tested and proven design is now part of the SHOP FOX family of high quality woodworking products. This 42" long fence has easily replaceable side panels made of HDPE plastic, a tough abrasion resistant material that is smoother than Teflon. The fence body is heavy walled rectangular tubing for durability. A high visibility scale allows easy, precise and repeatable settings and the fine lined cursor can be mounted on either side of the fence body, depending on your preference. The fence locks positively into position with a cam-action lever, making one-handed fence adjustment a snap. The fence system comes with super heavy-duty front and rear rails which can be mounted on almost any size or brand of table or cabinet saw (some modification to your table saw or its parts may be needed to get it to fit); it is designed for 27" deep tables. Fence rails are epoxy painted for a long lasting finish. The fence can be lifted off the rails anywhere along its length for the ultimate in convenience. An optional extension table measuring 44" X 27" is also available to provide a large worktable surface. The extension table includes a leg kit which provides two 32" high adjustable legs to provide stable support for the saw and table assembly. The extension table is made entirely of hardwood plywood with a durable laminated surface.

  • New life for my old table saw
My old fence broke on my table saw and the manufacturer doesn't provide replacement parts anymore. I started looking at replacement saws and replacement fences. Finally, I decided to bite the bullet and purchase the Shop Fox W2005 fence. When I received the fence, the box was pretty torn up which I have seen in several other reviews. There was some missing hardware which must have fallen out of one of the holes in the box. However, when I contacted the company, I received great service and replacement parts were sent out without question. The fence and mounting rails are pretty heavy so you will need either a helper or something to support the rails while you install them. Once I got everything installed, I did some test cuts and boy do I wish I had gotten this fence a long time ago. The fence is actually parallel to my blade which is an issue I always struggled with when the original fence was still operational. When you lock it down, it stays where you want it and the non-stick surface works great for any rip cuts you make. I am a hobbyist, so this doesn't get the same use as a commercial shop, but I do some cabinet making and accurate cuts are important, so this fence was a perfect choice for me. Before I bought it, I was a little put off by the price. Considering it was close to what I paid for my Grizzly saw back in the early 90's, it seemed like it may be overkill. However, I don't regret the decision for one minute. It is a quality heavy duty product and I expect to get many years of service. Five stars for me. I love this thing. UPDATE: While I still love the fence, you should be aware that some saws such as my Grizzly G1022 will not allow for a 45 degree cut using the new fence rails. The motor mounting bracket will not clear the rear fence rail as you approach the 45 degree setting. I did need to drill new holes during my original installation to align the rails to the holes in my saw top. Now I will have to do some more modifications to allow clearance for the motor mount. This is not a deal breaker, but you should be aware of this possibility if you are replacing your fence. ... show more

  • Fence has a significant bow
I originally got this fence because the fence that came with my table saw had a significant bow, which really made it hard to make precise cuts. This really impacted my ability to make runners for jigs and square my boards, so I decided to go online and look at recommended fences. Shop fox kept coming up and had great reviews, so I dropped over $500 on one, assuming that at that price tag, I wouldn't have to worry about something as amateur as a bow in my fence. It arrived well packaged and was relatively easy to assemble, but one thing did stick out to me. I was quite surprised that this fence doesn't have a rear clamp for extra stability. You can find cheaper fences online with rear clamps. The cheap fence that came with my table saw, while bowed, did have a rear clamping mechanism. I was quite disappointed, but after installing it, it does seem to be pretty stable without one, but it's hard to say without actually doing a stress test. Ive been using this fence for a few months now, and I thought it was flat, since my sawn boards were measuring the same thickness all the way through, so I never actually checked for a bow, but I still noticed that I was having trouble with cutting straight runners for jigs. I decided to check if the fence was bowed, and lo and behold, the darn thing is bowed! I decided to remove the plastic fence wall and run it over my jointer and through my thickness planer. This would entire that the wall is both flat, and more importantly, the same thickness all the way through. Whatever bow there would be in the plastic should now be straightened out as soon as I screw it back down to the metal fence body, so I do exactly that and...its still bowed. So I finally decide to check the only thing left that if could be, and I put a straight edge right on the metal body of the fence. The actual steel body of the fence is bowed. I have a high quality thick machined aluminum straight edge that is most definitely straight, as I've tested it on multiple flat surfaces, including the top of my table saw, so I can confirm that this thing is bowed about a good fraction of a millimeter. That much play can have a serious impact on precision cuts, and I honestly fine this level of manufacturing unacceptable for a product that costs as much as an entire good used table saw. It's been a few months since I've gotten this fence, and I don't know where I put the warranty, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to get a replacement yet, but regardless, this fence isn't worth $100, let alone $500. Don't buy this amateur piece of equipment. ... show more

  • Best buy on Amazon
I ordered this fence and rails, then watched each day by tracking it. Then on the due date it said out for delivery, but never arrived. The following day it again said out for delivery but never arrived. The follwing day the tracking said it was being returned to shipper. So I called UPS, the following day( 4 days after scheduled delivery) they returned my call and said the package was so badly destroyed thay had to open it to get the delivery information since the label was destroyed. UPS said they would not deliver the package in that condition and returned it to the shipper. So I called Amazon and told them what happened, they were very helpfull and said they would ship another right away. I told them that I had read the reviews about the poor packaging and the problems related to that. After a few days I received my new fence and rails undamaged. The installation was simple and straight forward, although none of the holes lined up with my 35 yr old Craftsman table saw. I did have to drill and tap the saw with the included drill and tap, however the drill did not make it through the first hole in the cast iron table, so I had to use my own bit. Other than having to drill and tap holes in the saw the installation was very simple and only took a couple of hours to install and set up. The fence is perfect, I could not imagine a more costly fence being any better, the rails are heavy steel and the fence is dead on every time. I installed the measured scale according to instrucions and it is dead on. I would definately buy this fence and rails again if the need should arise, however I think this heavy duty system will last for ever. I wish they made one for my band saw. ... show more

  • BEST UPGRADE
Use this to upgrade your old fence and throw away the tape measure. I have to of these in a professional woodworking shop and they work great and hold up well. Good fit and finish.
