I’ve just got back into motorcycle touring after about two decades off. I’ve had to balance saving money with spending money on the right things. I started with a $150 Bilt modular that was ok but is that really where you want to skimp? No it’s not and once I put this helmet on and rode with it, I knew I made the right choice. I ride in the PNW so fogging has been an issue but not with this helmet, the vents work extremely well.     • Solved buffeting issues with other helmets

This helmet has solved wind buffeting issues I had with other helmets. I have had an LS2 Valiant modular helmet past 2 years that depending on the bike and fairing, gave me severe buffeting at highway speeds. So much so that I had sold one bike and purchased a BMW touring bike. 2 other bikes I steered away from highway use because of the buffeting. One bike that I had 2 different sized windshields had to use 2 different helmets (the LS2 or a Bell Vintage full face) Depending on which windshield I had. Read some magazine reviews on this SHOEI Neotec II and took the chance with it. It was like night and day. All the bikes I had, there was a noticeable improvement in comfort and stability. No more shaking which on a long ride can be grueling. Glad I spent the $$ on this one! ... show more

This helmet is really well built and currently selling for a great price since the Neotec 3 has been released. This is my 3rd Shoei Neotech and it packed with lots of features. A built-in flip up sun visor, Pin lock anti-fog lens, air ventilation tunnel on top and near the bottom of the visor, quick connect strap, and it's modular. The entire front of the helmet completely opens up to get more fresh air at a signal light or to talk to someone easier. I love these helmets. They're hand-made in Japan. I have one complaint. This helmet for some reason has a high pitched whistle noise on the freeway and I cannot figure out why. My 2 other Shoei helmets didn't have that noise. Even when my visor and vents are completely closed, I still get that whistling noise. ☹️ I'm not going to return the helmet, it's just an annoyance I'm going to live with. ... show more

Overall this is a great helmet. I've had a neotec for the prior 6 years. It expired, so I upgraded to the Neotec 2. It feels lighter, but it's not. It sounds quieter, but there is still pronounced wind noise, especially at highway speed. I was hoping I could retire my earplugs. Not yet. Perhaps when the Neotec 3 comes out. Intercom integration works very weel, however, Sena systems have an annoying and frequent loud clicking noise whenever connecting to 3 or more other systems. Sena has known about it for years, but haven't fixed the problem yet. But that's on Sena, not Shoei. To me, this is the best and most comfortable modular helmet in its price range. But there is clearly room for improvement. Get on it Shoei engineers! Keep improving. ... show more
