The book is well structured and detailed. There are four parts: Laying the Foundation, Plan Your Shipping Container Home Project, Build Your Shipping Container Home, and Beginner-Friendly Floorplans. Each part is easy to follow with well-laid-out sections. For example, the first section dives deep into key questions and considerations before building your shipping container home and the pros--durability, structural integrity, cost-effectiveness, style, low maintenance, eco-friendliness, etc.-- and cons--local building regulations, financing challenges, climate control, etc.,. I appreciate that the author lays out all the factors, the common mistakes when building the home, finding the land, access to electricity and water, assessing environmental impact, and more. My key takeaway is the third part of the book about actually building it: choosing the foundation( raft, concrete), understanding soil type, climate, frost line, fitting windows and doors, ceiling, floor, and even addressing challenges such as condensation and minimizing moisture. I recommend this book if you are considering designing, planning, and building a cost-effective container home. My opinions are my own. ... show more
