  • This one was junk
I bought a Shinko 011 for the front and back of my VMAX. The back tire is great, the front one was junk. Never could get it to balance. From about 45 mph and up this thing was bouncing all over the place, dangerous. Put a Dunlop Battlax back on the front and life is good...

  • 1st tire was out of round, replacement tire was perfect
09 vmax...replaced the worn-out front Metzeler 888 looking for better grip since I ride a little aggressive. Right away I noticed a side-to-side wobble with the Shinko. Broke down the tire, spun it, rebalanced it, same thing. Take your hands off the bars at high speeds and it gets scary. UPDATE...the seller Chapparrell Motorsports did a great job contacting the manufacturer and secured me a replacement tire. I had to get a different tire in the interim, another Metzeler 888, so in about 6 months I'll do another update when the new Shinko is installed. I'll keep my fingers crossed since I do like the grip of the Shinko. 10/21/2021...installed the replacement tire today. All went well. Tire didn't need any weight to balance and was pretty smooth at 100+mph. I ordered another Shinko as I plan on running these tires from now on. ... show more

  • Smooth and quiet on a ST1300A
Replaced a worn out Road Pilot 4 on a Honda ST1300A with this tire. Night and day difference! This tire, after a short run-in is smooth and pretty neutral. At first it wanted to really dive into turns but has turned into an nice, stable front that doesn't seem to notice the pavement grooves and stripe paint when you cut across them at small angles. The RP4 was very twitchy over the same stuff. It was shot, with a pretty square cross-section, so some of that is on the wear. The Trans-Euro is a heavy bike so we'll see how fast this wears. For the price, if I get 6k miles out of it I'll be happy. ... show more

  • Shinko tires are great tires
I have used Shinko tires on several bikes. 09 vmax,2012 vfr1200,2015 zx14r,and now a 2018 vmax. They are great. Wear good and stick to the road good to.

  • It's okay for the price. But there are better choices for a little more money.
This is not my first experience with Shinkos. I used a set on my CBR1100XX and the front one had to be sent back as it would not balance. The second one was great. That set lasted longer than any tire prior. Fast forward to today. Kawasaki Concours 1000 - had Avons on it and they were worn. I figured I would give Shinko another try. I bought these for the front and Shinko 777's for rear. The 777's were replaced only after 300 miles because I could not stand them. These I will be replacing at some point that as it is very noisy. Pros: price. they seem to show no wear after 1000 miles. Cons: noisy. very hard to balance - and there is just a slight shimmy at 45 mph. Raising the air pressure helps - but doesn't completely eliminate this. Overall I would recommend spending the extra $35 the first time and buying better quality the first time. ... show more

  • Awesome tire! What a world of difference from the ...
Awesome tire! What a world of difference from the factory Bridgestone tires that came on the bike. I have these on my 2005 Yamaha Warrior. Steering is more precise and confidence inspiring. I can turn in a little later, lean it a little harder and accelerate earlier on bends. tread pattern is more sportier but looks great on my bike. After a few months of use, wear seems better than the factory tires. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Great tires
Very sure-footed and good in the rain(45-50 mph) Im running a set on a kawasaki 1000 concours. Handling is improved. Only have 2k on them so cant say on longevity.
