I'm wondering if I could sand them to be a little "sharper" without causing splinters. The quality is middling. These bamboo back scratchers are lightweight, yet sturdy. The handle is extra long at 17" making it easy to reach all areas of my back. I've had both shoulders replaced, so I can no longer reach my back without the help of a scratcher. These have been amazing for me! Before use, I would recommend inspecting the backscratcher for any loose slivers or rough edges. These are easy to remedy by quickly using sanding paper to smooth them out. I noticed this on one of the backscratchers on and between the "fingers". I do like that there is also a loop to hang them so they're always in reach. If you’ve used one of these wooden back scratchers before you know they are pretty standard. This one has the same curve and teeth and is slightly longer than standard. I like this one a bit better because of the extra length and the handle is a bit wider. Makes it easier to reach spots on your back and apply more pressure. What I don’t like about these back scratcher in general is that the “teeth” are a bit too smooth and close together to really get a good scratch through clothing but that may be more of a B personal preference. ... show more
