I purchased this chain from the seller, Last Samurai. While they have a 100% positive seller rating, all the product reviews from buyers that have received incomplete, incorrect, or downright counterfeit Dura Ace chains gave me cause for concern. I shouldn't have worried. As you can see from the pictures, the chain I received is the correct Shimano CN-HG-901 chain with hollow pins, master link and box, properly sealed in plastic. I have to assume that buyers that did not receive the correct chain ordered from some other seller (there are many). Do your research on sellers before buying, and if Last Samurai has your item in stock, buy with confidence. ... show more

This chain was as advertised as XTR DuraAce chain however this chain broke in 1 month after riding. I went to pedal under load when I was already moving and snapped it badly. Luckily I had a spare master link. But this chain that was already barely long enough for an 11 speed setup is now too short to shift into the big range on my 51T cassette. I’m gonna go with KMC for it’s replacement as my previous one endured 6000 miles and is still not fully worn. I wanted to like this chain but unfortunately it failing with less than 100 miles on it is not acceptable ... show more

Upgraded my shock and during the tuning process I banged up the chain so off to Amazon for the rescue. Opted for the XT correctly assuming the top of the Shimano food chain was worth the extra and lo and behold...it was!! You don't realize how much your shift quality stinks until you make a change like this. I never thought it was bad before, but it is certainly amazing now. I would go as far to say better than new compared to my standard Shimano chain on a Shimano 11spd XT drivetrain. I'm not sure how much of this is due to the XT being directional or having special ramps, etc that the OEM Shimano chain lacked, but whatever it is I am certainly enjoying the change. Old chain had 240 miles or so before I wrecked it and there currently isn't many on the new chain, but I can tell this is going to be a good relationship. :) ... show more

Doesn’t include a quick link, so be aware that you’ll need to have a chain tool or buy a separate quick link for install. Great price for a genuine 901 Dura-Ace chain.

I was skeptical about several past reviews that reported sub level model chains being received and mislabeled packaging. This is the real deal and at the best price on the internet with quick link included. If you’re running shimano components then stick with their chain. I replaced a worn out ultegra with a gold knc and that made a lot of noise. This is what should be on there. From all the reviews I’ve read this as smooth as the 701, but has more longevity. Time will tell, but smooth shifting and quiet operation are already in order. ... show more
