What can you say? It is what it says on the tin, and it's of Shimano quality. If the number of gears are what you're looking for and the size you like is available, you won't be disappointed with it. It's a fantastic value for the money, and is significantly lighter (and just more "solid-feeling") than the stock Shimano Claris 8-speed cassette that came with my machine. I do note that my factory wheels (2017 Tommaso Sentiero) were *not* compatible with this, however! The lockring would not catch a thread and was therefore unable to install on the original wheels. Maybe a more modern bike would be able to upgrade from 8 to 11-speed without updating the wheels as well, but I can't speak to that from experience. Either way, it's no fault of this cassette, and I'm really happy I upgraded my wheels anyway ;D ... show more

I used this cassette for my smart trainer, the Elite Direto XR. It popped directly onto the HG hub in one piece thanks to the included installation guide. It shifts well and seems very durable. I used a standard freewheel socket to install, torqued to the rating on the cassette lockring.

I run full Dura Ace R9100 on one of my bikes, with the exception of the cassette and chain. For the cassette and chain, I chose 105 R7000. Why? The fact of the matter is that a 105 level cassette and chain perform exactly as well as Ultegra or Dura Ace. Yes, 105 weighs just a hair more than Ultegra(15-20 gram difference), and around 68 grams more than Dura Ace. Outside of weight, there is simply no performance difference in cassettes between 105, Ultegra, and Dura Ace. If there was a performance difference, I wouldn't hesitate to opt for Ultegra/Dura Ace. In terms of pure shifting performance and noise, 105 cassettes are as good and quiet as Ultegra, and as good and quieter than Dura Ace ( Dura Ace cassettes are slightly louder than Ultegra and 105). In sum, why spend 40% more for Ultegra, and 150% more for Dura Ace, only to save 15-68 grams, but experience no real performance gains? Highly recommended 5 stars Cheers! ... show more
