For an afternoon activity, this is a great option to keep the kids busy. Of course kids + paint is always messy. Wish it came with a bit more paint, we ended up using leftover paint we had around the house. Overall a fun arts & crafts activity.

I got this kit because I wanted some extra activities for the kids to do together this summer. A great way for them to get creative, instead of sitting in front of screens. My kids ages 11, 6, and 3 all did this kit together. My 11 year old said the colors were really bold and that it was an easy and fun craft. It is a nice change from the typical rock painting. The shells all turned out really cute and I love having little craft keepsakes from the kids. I could tell they all really enjoyed this kit!!

This goldentime Shell Painting Kit is not just for kids. This old senior had fun using this kit with my 9 year old granddaughter. This kit had 9 real, large sea shells and four smaller shells. I was surprised that it came with 8 colors of paint. Some paint kits only have three colors. There isn’t a lot of paint. My granddaughter used all the white paint on one shell. She painted it white and then mixed white with other colors, to make lighter shades of colors. This kit has one small paint brush, for details and one larger, that puts paint on quicker. There is also some clay, that we used to make pig nose’s and ears on the smaller pig. My granddaughter was distracted by the clay, and started playing with if. The yellow clay was dry, when we opened it. My granddaughter added a small amount of water, which just made her hands yellow, but didn’t help the clay to be more pliable. There is three paint tubes and one glue tube. They have tiny caps inside the the tips that were kind of hard to remove. Lastly, the are three small packets of glitter. I wish they were in zipper type bags, so we could seal them to use more of it later. This is a fun kit, but you will want to put something on your table to catch dropped paint, glue, glitter, and water. We used a small green plastic mat for that purpose. I think we will run out of paint before we have all the shells painted.

This is a fun little set for any crafty kid 5+. Set includes all you need to paint the various size shells. I like that it has a little shell holder told the shells up so you can paint them easier. Good selection of acrylic paint colors. Air dry clay and the glitter paper is a nice addition too. Craft glue works ok. It’s not fabulous but it kind of keeps things attached. (I’ve learned it’s better to use my hot glue gun with these kits.) Decent brushes. My five year old had a great time decorating some of the big shells. While she couldn’t get any of them to really look like the box except the ladybug one, she’s enjoyed working on this and being creative. I think it would also be a great gift idea for birthday parties. Or to have at grandmas house when the kids come to visit. Price point at $14.99 seems reasonable for the quality of the kit.

My granddaughter (and I) had a lot of fun with this shell painting kit. She loves arts and crafts so I knew this would be a big hit with her and it was! The kit really has a lot, two different shell sizes, paint, glitter, clay and 3 tubes of 3D paint. The only issue we had was with the 3D paint. When my granddaughter tried squeezing it out of the tubes nothing would come out. I had to take off the top that was on it and when I squeezed on the tube (with quite a bit of force) all of a sudden the paint shot out and my granddaughter probably lost half of the 3D paint that was in it ( made a little bit of a mess on my table). The other two tubes did the same thing but this time I did it over the garbage can. This was the only issue, other than that we both had fun being creative with the shells.
