Pros: Super bright, amazing throw distance, lots of fx possibilities Cons: VERY loud. Not dimmable. difficult to program Purchased one to try out, hoping I could use in our theatre. We have a LONG throw from our house lighting position. While the throw on this thing is amazing, its really not meant for traditional theatre lighting and will not work - primarily because you can't dim it. It has a manual shutter, more like a follow spot, that uses a physical shutter to block the light, so you either get ON or OFF, you cannot dim. Combine that with a ridiculously loud fan, and it makes this one a no-go for theatre. Would be great in a club or for a rock show. As for programming - 1. make sure in your settings you go to "perform" and set to "dmx" THEN 2. set your strobe to full on You should get light output then. ... show more

    • Shehds 10r 275w: Inadequate manual, yet efficient when properly set up

The media could not be loaded. I spent three to four hours manually mapping every channel and range in DMX due to the insufficient manual, which lacked color and gobo range mappings within channels. Unique aspects of this lamp, such as the lamp controls on channel 16, caused frustration when using these fixtures compared to other LED-based fixtures. I eventually set the lamp's default to ON in the menus, though it was initially set to OFF. It's important to map channel 16 in your scenes to turn off the lamp and allow the fans to run for 10-15 minutes before powering off the fixtures, prolonging their lifespan like a video projector's cooling process. This fixture differs from other LED-based fixtures as its brightness cannot be manually controlled by the dimmer. Instead, it has a mechanical gate that, when incrementally closed, cuts off the projected light from top to bottom. For example, if using the prism at 50% dimmer, only the top half will be visible. This makes it challenging to effectively dim these bright lights and renders them unsuitable for small venue stage lighting. Additionally, it's worth noting that since the bulb's brightness cannot be dimmed, these fixtures do not pair well with Shehds 100W spots, as they are significantly brighter. The attached video shows the 10r 275w along side the Shehds 100w. I'll submit a separate review for the 100w fixtures as they have their own issues vs the claim specs. ... show more
