I had to toss my old thread scissors and boy ohh boy what an upgrade these are. So happy with my purchase, so worth it! Every time I cut a thread now it's a buttery smooth experience. And cuts right up against the surface so great for keeping cut threads invisible. Love everything about this product. I have been keeping the blades in the protective shield when not in use to make their sharpness last as long as possible. It has been a few weeks and the blades feel sharp like the very first time. 100% recommend!

Item is of excellent quality though not well suited to the task for which I purchased them. I bought this Precision Scissor based on the specific recommendation of the Staff at Fine Scale Modeler Magazine for the purpose of removing photo etched brass from the frets. While they may be OK for larger scales, for 1/350 scale and smaller, they often damage the delicate parts and are to thick to fit into most spaces. They are however, great for cutting/trimming plastic parts. I have since found -- and purchased on Amazon -- the Xuron Professional Photo Etch Scissor 9180ET which are as close to perfect for cutting and trimming photo etched brass as I could ask for. And only $3 more than the 440. If photo etched brass is your target usage then I highly recommend the 9180ET scissor instead.

I bought these on a whim and didn't realize how much I needed them until after using them. These scissors have very sharp edges and allow me to cut in very tight spaces. I use them for cutting Fireline beading thread and can cut very close to the beads leaving an almost invisible tail. Fireline can be tough to cut with ordinary scissors unless I get just the right angle. These scissors solve the problem. The scissors shipped in a cardboard sleeve and I put them back into it after use so that I can protect them (and me from inadvertent contact). The only improvement I could I would suggest would be to include a more permanent protection for the tips. Maybe I'll try making one from leather.

I purchased these scissors for work on scale models, specifically for the photo-etched metal sheets. I put them to a true test immediately bu using them to build a Tenyo Nano-Puzzle of a Star Wars AT-AT walker. To give you an idea of how small these scissors can snip, the finished kit of this model was barely over 5" tall when completed. Some of the individual parts were smaller than 1/4" square! Anyways, these scissors cut with extreme precision and had no trouble snipping the tiny pieces from the sprues without bending or maiming them. I would have ruined several X-Acto blades if I didn't have them. My only wish would be that the blade-end of the scissors had some sort of plastic cover. Be sure to keep the cardboard sleeve as a storage solution!!!

Have you experienced that feeling when you pick up a really high quality tool, and it brings a smile to your face just holding it? Well, that's what these do for me :-) These little scissors look great, feel great, and work even better. Very precise cuts, exactly where you'd expect (no offset). Very highly recommended. If you get this as your first Xuron tool, I'm sure you'll want their entire line-up of cutters and pliers as well--I did. Their exclusive Micro-Shear technology (basically the cutting edges are ever so slightly offset, so instead of meeting head-on (and eventually blunting them), they slightly bypass each other, cutting by, well, a micro-shearing action (guess that's why they call it that :-)). The blades last longer, and the cuts are cleaner. These tools are, quite simply, better tools. And no, I don't work for them, I just *really* like quality tools--especially when they don't even cost much more than inferior ones! Try one, and as soon as you pick it up, you'll be glad you did ;^)

Worked great for the first few months but with continued use on Fireline, 6#, it no longer cuts as cleanly at the tips as it did when new. It still cuts fairly well as the base but I need to use the tip to get into tight spaces on projects.

I buld gunpla gundam model kits and the parts come on a sprue so it is not a good idea to pull the pieces off you need a good hobby knife or blade but they can get a little dangerous so a good par of nippers or small sharp hobby scissors are the best way to cut the part of the sprues these is A good it One Cuts the parts good enough that you can easily trim the excess plastic or file it down this is the longest lasting one I have had they usually break or get dull and even sometimes just fall apart these held up fine now usually this kind of Knippers have a bit of a curve to It this one is straight I didn't like that at first but after a while I got used to it now I would buy a curved pair of the same nippers because it's sometimes is hard to cut certain pieces off over all this is one of a kind I was kind of confused when they came in the mail because it was a standard shipping box from Amazon but the package itself for the nippers was a little square cardboard box not like the type you would get in the craft or hobby shop over all I would buy a Nother one it's cheaper then most of the real good hobby and model Cutters but it's good if you just started building model kits I am sure it's good for other hobbies as well
