This kit was very easy and fun to use! Ingredients arrive pre-measured, and the lip balm containers have a pretty pastel/neutral color palette. Also, the branding/packaging design is on point! Clearly this was designed with a pleasant user experience in mind (I discovered later that this brand was created by a PhD major in Positive Psychology, which now is making sense). The lip balms and entire kit itself make excellent gifts. Previously I used the CraftZee kit which provided more materials, but the fragrance oils mixed very poorly with the product. The stickers were also of low quality (permanent sharpie smudged right off). A third of the product was unusable and therefore disposed. This Urban Kangaroo kit is much more preferable; I'll take quality over quantity.

I just had to write a review after my positive experience with Urban Kangaroo. When I received my order of the lip balm kit I noticed that there appeared to have been an oil leaking inside. Once opened that was in fact the case, one of the bottles hadn't been sealed completely and had leaked onto the other contents. Other than being oil soaked everything was fine and salvageable except for the labels for the lip balm. I contacted the company directly and notified them of the situation and simply requested the labels be replaced since I could still use everything else. However!!! Urban Kangaroo went so far beyond my expectations to correct the error it just really blew me away. Their customer service was prompt and so courteous and followed up with me until the replacement products reached my door. I have to say that I will be recommending this company to my friends and family who want to do sweet little DIY projects or gift them. In addition to their customer service, the product is great too. The DIY kits come packaged and portioned out with everything labeled and instructions to follow and it is all done in a lovely format with packaging that you can be happy giving as a gift. So if you're looking for a fun project to do in an afternoon with your friends, sister or daughter then check out Urban Kangaroo because they have some great products that are a lot of fun!

I bought this for my two daughters (9 and 6) for Christmas. We made them together. The steps were a little challenging for my 6 year old, with double boiling and the coordination required for filling the tubes. It also took patience, as the wax beads took a while to melt. I ended up doing most of the steps, but they still felt like they were involved and now love to use the balms. When the box arrived, I was surprised by how small it was, but it really does give you the supplies to make all the included sticks of lip balm, with a little leftover. The balm is high quality. It comes with two flavors: orange and mint. We put in all the orange and a dash of the mint. It's good, but a little strong. If I make it again I think I'll go lighter on the flavor. It comes with some sugar substitute granules for sweetness. I added a bit but wish I hadn't--they didn't melt and left a grainy texture behind. I recommend adding some agave syrup on your own if you want more sweetness, but it really isn't necessary. Now we have a cache of lip balms to get us through the cold, dry months (and then some). I would buy this again.

We bought as a craft and it was very straight forward directions! They give you plenty of product to make multiple chapsticks and balms. The stickers are very cute to decorate and make your own! We gave out as birthday gifts and our friends and family loved the idea, simple ingredients, natural ingredients, and said the balm was very moisturizing! I love the balm myself it keeps my lips from being dry and chapped! I would highly recommend this as a gift or simple fun craft at home with the kids! It comes in a cute box and very straight forward steps. I would suggest after heating up melted beeswax to use it fast because if it sets in the tube to put into the containers it will harden and make it hard to use and get out and get clogged so just make sure everything is set out and prepared ready to go so it's all very easy! Could require one adult for smaller children :) I would buy again!

My 9 year old daughter has received several lip balm making kits over the past year, including this one. They all seem to have pluses and minuses, and none of them are 100% perfect, but this one is probably the closest. On the plus side, it came with an ample amount of supplies, 2 flavor oils, lots of tubes - which are the easiest for kids to use and also the least messy way for children to apply lip balm - versus little pots. It also contained labels for all of the tubes, which the other kits she has received did not, so that was a big plus. The instructions were clear and easy for a 9 year old to follow, although it does require a stove / heat, so parental supervision is required. On the minus side, it did not contain any containers or beakers to use to mix the ingredients in, and subsequently use to pour the ingredients into the tubes. It does include a dropper, but that gets pretty tedious with a kit this size and leaves air bubbles. One of our other kits had containers tho, so we borrowed from that kit to use when making these. Also, the truvia doesn't always dissolve completely and can become clumpy in the oil, so a liquid sweetener might be better. Further, the instructions tell you how to add color if you'd like, but just including that in the kit would have been nice. She also received a different kit that included shimmer drops and sunblock (zinc oxide) drops, which would both be nice additions to this kit, and make it more fun, as would additional flavors. Last, you have to make the whole kit at once, so including instructions on how much of the ingredients you would need to use if you only wanted to do 4 or 6 tubes at a time would be helpful. Overall tho, this is a great kit, and I would recommend it for kids 8 years and up who like to make things. My daughter is very proud of the lip balms she created and enjoyed the process of making them.

Fun activity with my child. Healthy 3 product lip balm. Made many but truly the best I’ve ever used. You can make it whatever scent/flavor you choose.
