The shape starts as a box with a design on each side then you undo it and twist it a bit then the challenge is to get it back to the square shape with the same design. My adult son could complete it in 20 seconds. It took me an hour. It is extremely addicting and challenging. I would buy this again and again. I would buy this block as a gift. I think this block helps children and adults with anxiety, and fidgeting, and could help to keep them calm. This little gift was a hit at Christmas. I bought five of them to gift out to different people in my family and everyone wanted to play with it. To speak to its durability... you cannot force the cube to twist or move in a way it is not designed to or the covering will most likely break. None of our's did, but I can see how it would. In order for the joints to be flexible, it is just a thick sticker that the pattern is printed on and it allows the core shape to move and bend over those joints. You really have to allow the shashibo to guide your movements and not the other way around. We had so much fun trying to see if we could copy each other's shapes that were made. It truly is a brain puzzle and fun for all ages. The artist in me thinks this could be fun in the art classroom, maybe as a drawing tool, or just a fun way to fill the time for students who are finished with a project. I want to start off by saying, This is a wonderful gift. It's really a cool mind stimulating fidget. That being said, I have a 13 year old son who is severely autistic. He loves to fidget with things like this. Keeps his hand busy. We thought this was a wonderful gift and it was until the stickers started lifting and my son began to peel them enough to expose the seams. As soon as he saw the triangles that make up the cube can be opened it was game over. He was able to pull the entire cube apart and expose all the magnets inside the cube in all of 10 minutes. Only 12 of the 36 magnets are mounted by glue. The other 22 are loose and easy to take out. In short I spent Two day in the emergency department with my son because he swallowed the magnets. For anyone who knows what magnets can do to the intestines it's not good. So if you do buy this item please for the love of God, don't, if your child is destructive or doesn't understand that they aren't supposed to eat things like magnets. But for and adult or neurotypical child over the age of 8 I would definitely recommend. For us it just wasn't meant to be. ... show more

Best toy for all ages, gender, or occasion. This is a great, fun, toy to try and use as a building block or rubik's cube. It is just as good to just flip and fidget. It is pretty, feels soothing in your hands, safe, and enjoyable on some level for all ages. I purchased twelve of these for Christmas gifts, ages ranging from 1 1/2 to 62. Everyone loved them and continue to love them. They are the perfect toy to keep finding one more way to transform or integrate together. (Only negative, a bit pricey, but worth it if you are willing to spend the $) ... show more

    • Frustrating for old farts! Not for amateurs!

I bought this for a grandchild for Christmas. She loves this kind of thing and I thought she would enjoy it. They are a little steep in price and I must say, I was a bit surprised when it arrived in a tiny little 2.5 x 2.5 inch box, (From the pics, I was expecting something about double that size). I wanted to be certain I was getting a decent quality item, so I removed it from the box and started messing around with it to check quality and entertainment value. Well, we are now 3 days closer to Christmas since it arrived and I am no closer to getting back into that 2.5 x 2.5 box it came in. It is ridiculous how many times I have tried to fold it back into a tiny little square! To be honest, I simply feel frustrated with the whole damn thing. I even had ideations of tearing it apart and gluing it back together. (Then I remembered what I paid and I thought better of it.) The quality certainly seems decent. I am basing that on the fact that it didn't come apart yet and I think I have folded it every which way to Sunday. On the upside, my granddaughter is probably going to love it! She is just 9 yrs old, but will probably get it back in the box in 5 minutes!! So, I guess what I am reluctantly saying, is that I think the entertainment value is there. I still have 20 days to get some help (probably from a kid!) with getting this back in the box it came in. Otherwise, I will find a new box to wrap it in and keep the old box - so I can show the granddaughter how it looked when I got it. It is a little embarrassing that I have found this to be so difficult. But, I am trying to be transparent here and forewarn you that UNLESS you have some help from a genius (ok maybe exaggerating there), DO NOT take it out of the box to try it out if it is a gift for someone else! If they weren't so darn expensive, I would have simply just ordered another one and kept this one for my dumb self. 😜 ... show more

This is totally cool. Not great for a gift but as a stocking stuffer, for sure. Price is pretty steep as a stocking stuffer though…. Price is steep in general honestly. I want so bad to buy another but they’re too expensive. Very very cool nonetheless. My son and husband both have ADD/ADHD and it kept them busy, yes, but they got frustrated and bored pretty quickly. If my son were younger (hes14now) I probably wouldn’t have been pleased getting it, I would fear he’d try to break it in frustration trying to get it to move the way he wanted or something.y husband said he felt like tearing it apart a few times himself lol. I would still recommend 100% either way. Very cool, just expensive ... show more
