I bought this for a grandchild for Christmas. She loves this kind of thing and I thought she would enjoy it. They are a little steep in price and I must say, I was a bit surprised when it arrived in a tiny little 2.5 x 2.5 inch box, (From the pics, I was expecting something about double that size). I wanted to be certain I was getting a decent quality item, so I removed it from the box and started messing around with it to check quality and entertainment value. Well, we are now 3 days closer to Christmas since it arrived and I am no closer to getting back into that 2.5 x 2.5 box it came in. It is ridiculous how many times I have tried to fold it back into a tiny little square! To be honest, I simply feel frustrated with the whole damn thing. I even had ideations of tearing it apart and gluing it back together. (Then I remembered what I paid and I thought better of it.) The quality certainly seems decent. I am basing that on the fact that it didn't come apart yet and I think I have folded it every which way to Sunday. On the upside, my granddaughter is probably going to love it! She is just 9 yrs old, but will probably get it back in the box in 5 minutes!! So, I guess what I am reluctantly saying, is that I think the entertainment value is there. I still have 20 days to get some help (probably from a kid!) with getting this back in the box it came in. Otherwise, I will find a new box to wrap it in and keep the old box - so I can show the granddaughter how it looked when I got it. It is a little embarrassing that I have found this to be so difficult. But, I am trying to be transparent here and forewarn you that UNLESS you have some help from a genius (ok maybe exaggerating there), DO NOT take it out of the box to try it out if it is a gift for someone else! If they weren't so darn expensive, I would have simply just ordered another one and kept this one for my dumb self. 😜 EDIT: 01/24/23 - I did order a second one for myself (and company) Mind you, I did not even get it out until several days after Christmas. Today is the 24th of January and so we maybe had it opened 3 weeks. It has been played with quite a bit by kids and adults alike, however it is tearing apart at one of the seams. So, frankly we are a bit disappointed for spending $20 on something we thought we would enjoy a bit longer. After only 3 weeks, it is clear this one is not going to last much longer. I guess on the upside, $20 is really pretty cheap entertainment these days, when you consider the cost of going to a movie or bowling, eating out or any other activity. I have such a hard time finding gifts for my 13 year old son. One of the rare kids who doesn't ask for literally anything. He has gifts from his birthday and Christmas he hasn't even opened yet from the last two years...well this came up in an Amazon suggestion and I'm VERY happy it did. He has barely put this down long enough to do things like eat and shower. I ended up buying him several more. He's fascinated by them and has impressed himself finding new combinations. My kids and I have a lot of fun playing with this thing. Seems like we are always making new shapes we never made before. We also notice that each person using it tends to have a different style of manipulating it and different types of shapes they create. My youngest son looks like he is playing with a rubix cube when he plays with it. His shapes are geometric and sometimes look like animals. When I do it I get chaotic shapes that never seem to be geometric. I get little hangy shapes that jiggle. It's neat to see what someone will create. It can also be relaxing. ... show more

I want to start off by saying, This is a wonderful gift. It's really a cool mind stimulating fidget. That being said, I have a 13 year old son who is severely autistic. He loves to fidget with things like this. Keeps his hand busy. We thought this was a wonderful gift and it was until the stickers started lifting and my son began to peel them enough to expose the seams. As soon as he saw the triangles that make up the cube can be opened it was game over. He was able to pull the entire cube apart and expose all the magnets inside the cube in all of 10 minutes. Only 12 of the 36 magnets are mounted by glue. The other 22 are loose and easy to take out. In short I spent Two day in the emergency department with my son because he swallowed the magnets. For anyone who knows what magnets can do to the intestines it's not good. So if you do buy this item please for the love of God, don't, if your child is destructive or doesn't understand that they aren't supposed to eat things like magnets. But for and adult or neurotypical child over the age of 8 I would definitely recommend. For us it just wasn't meant to be. ... show more

I am a 33 year old with ADHD, and I constantly have to be messing with something in my hands. I got the Shashibo cube after months of thinking about it. Since it has arrived, I am constantly messing with it. I love taking it apart and randomly making shapes with it. All of my family loves to mess with it too. Kids and adults will love this as a gift or as a fidget toy for their desk. I would definitely recommend picking one up. Purchased for my 8 yr old. On Christmas Day, all the adults wouldn’t give it back to her. Super fun little puzzle fidget thing if you haven’t had one before. It’s a short fix for adults but my little one still likes to play with it and share with friends. I’d definitely recommend!!

I bought this for my son and I am playing with it as much as he is. I would put this in the fidget toy category but this is not a negative. At first we both had a hard time getting back to the cube shape, but now we have learned how to manipulate the various shapes and get back to the cube.
